Primitive USFS Campground just off Hudson Ranch Rd. Pit toilet. Seven large spots with fire rings.
Road from highway is rough and uneven. Might be a challenge for RVs, trailers, or low clearance vehicles.

Some nice views & stargazing at this campground. Showed up on a Saturday evening and there was a small group partying with loud music. Thankfully they had good music for my tastes! I was the only other camper here.
As noted by others, the road in was super rutted out. But the party group and some hikers that stopped by the next day all had cars so I guess cars can make it in!
Report Check-InNice campsite. Spot 5 has amazing views. Pit toilet was not clean. Every spot has a picknick table and fire ring. Quiet when we were there. Online it says it’s $5 with America the Beautiful pass, but we left early in the morning and no signs, nobody came to take payment.
Report Check-InQuiet, hidden camp ground. Easy to miss the entrance. No hook ups. Need a national park pass or USFS pass to stay here although not sure if someone is checking.
Report Check-InOther reviews info accurate to my visit too. The one site (#5) with the best view had a crazy number of earwigs flying around: if you park there to look around, roll up you windows (or just park back near the outhouse). Midweek there was another party (2cars) there. I moved on, didnt stay.
Report Check-InFree campground in Los Padres NF, as described. Nice view of the Central Valley at night. You see all the lights, yet it is completely quiet up here. Good to take a break from traveling, nothing to do here.. no trails. T-mobile is spotty, 3 bars to none.
