What a gem of a place. Old school bungalows and camping ground. Obviously been around for years so looks quite neglected but actually well cared for. The campsite is terraced and grassed. Beautiful views over the bay and 10 minute walk to boulders beach. Ablutions old but very clean. We were only there for night but would have liked to have stayed longer. Paid R280 for two adults and one child. Hard to beat when you're surrounded by multi-million Rand properties! We even saw porcupines running around the camp at night.
Report Check-InI spend 3 days here because high winds and rainy days , I paid 140 rand per night 1 person whit a bike, I use the kitchen to avoid the winds, the personal was very nice.
Report Check-InChecked in but did not stay. There were holes in the fence. Place did not feel safe.
Report Check-InNice big rig camping. Fine and clean facilities incl. a swimming pool. Walking distance from the penguins. You can pay to see the whole colony or you can walk along the beach and be lucky to spot some - just cross the road and walk to the left (north).
Report Check-InUnfortunately we did not enjoy our stay as much as the other guests below. We had a lot of wind and when we wanted to park our car a bit out of the wind the security guy told us that we could not stay at this place - it was a parking lot of one of the chalets - although no other guests were staying there or needed the parking lot that night at all. The campsite and resort was deserted. We drove back to one of the terraces but didnt sleep all night because of the strong wind. None of the places provided good shelter for the wind. Apart from that good and clean ablutions and convenient place to stay to go to cape point and boulders beach.
Report Check-Inwe are back and all still very good.
great views ... close to town... quite
As everyone has said, this is a great place to stay. Very few campers the night we stayed. Also lucky that the wind dropped so it was a very quiet night. Lovely views. Newly renovated and very clean bathrooms, hot showers and a very friendly helpful security guard checked us in.

Report Check-InBig resort in Simons Town with grassy terraced campsites overlooking False Bay. We were alone in the ressort, then ist is a very good campsite. If fully booked there is a lack of privacy. There are electricity and water at the sites, ablution is ok, even a swimming pool is available. 125 ZAR pp. For the ablution key you have to leave a deposit of 50 ZAR. The security guy at the entrance was very nice and helpful and checked us in because we arrived after office hours. 4G MTN signal.

Communal kitchen newly renovated and clean but no refrigeration. Rates are R120 pppn out of season and R135 pppn in high season (mid December to mid January and over Easter)
Report Check-InNice campsite, clean facilities, quiet eventhough it’s high season. Good as a base for cape point. Office closes at 18, we arrived later but could pay in the morning. Price in high season 120 pp. We loved the ocean view and grassy campsites.
Report Check-InVery nice campsite, very clean ablutions, nice view over the Bay, 200Rand for 2pax/night. 24/7 security/closed gate!

For a coffee you should visit the MIG21, above the parking lot of the pinguins. Simon, the owner, is an unicum and the interior is interesting.
