Description

On a long stretch of river about 35km west of Futaleufu. Beautiful scenery. There are lots of covered areas, some at sites, others big communal areas. Plenty of space and grassy areas for tents. Watch out for the wild (domesticated) boars! Showers are hot, but are wood fired. Electricity in the house only. Cabanas available.

Not a nice place.. We arrived at 8pm after a really rough road! Our idea was to be earlier but was impossible. It was raining when we got there. When we entered, 4 to 6 non-friendly dogs came to receive us but no one else. We saw light in a house but I didn’t get out of the car because of the dogs. They were really aggressive. So we gave a look around and the place was not nice, with dirt, trash and old nasty cars. I don’t recommend it.

We went to this campsite because the lonely planet was very enthusiastic about this place. It was a bit disapointing. It is more a rafting company/farm then a campsite and it has definitly had better days. Nobody seemed really interested in the campsite. It took us a while to find somebody that could tell us the price (5000 pesos per person) and where we could park the van. We shared the camping area with a horse, a pig and a bunch of turkeys. The toilets are basic. There are showers with a woodstove, so maybe you can make a fire and have a hot shower? Nobody explained it to us and we didn’t use them. There was a inside area (meeting place for rafting groups?) with tables and chairs we used for cocking. Nobody seemed to mind that we used them. There are also two quinchos, but some people (form the rafting company?) used them as a sleeping place, so we couldn’t use them.

Pay campsite. There are small fogons at this place with running water. Wood fired showers. Rustic toilets. Pretty difficult to find a flat spot although we did manage. Access to the river for fishing although to a fairly small stretch. CH$3000 per person.
