Same price now (30 soles), same basic conditions and same roosters around the block.

I would consider this place just as an emergency stop if it's getting dark and you get anywhere else. I understood that in San Fernando there is accommodation available as well but I don't know the details. Maybe it is worth to check it out.

Rode through here and picked up on a strange and unfriendly vibe from the locals so decided to continue on and camp rather than stay at the hotel. I can confirm that the hotel is still in operation but I didn't see any of the rooms. The camping spot 20 miles up the road was great though.

The only hotel in town, still here. No restaurant, only food available at the small store 30 meters uphill from the hotel. Very basic, outside toilet, no heat in the rooms. 20 soles per person for 3 rooms, 2-doubles, one single.

A local hostal on an amazing road. We paid 25 soles (asked for 30) with shared bathroom. Parking onsite but not very secured, but safe place and I parked my bike with lots of gear on it. Truck drivers use this place to stay in their truck and eat/shower here so that will be possible as well here, no idea of the price but you will have to park on the street. Only option in town. Paid 7 soles for a meal.
WARNING: been travelling for three and a half years now, NEVER heard so many roosters, and I mean never. They just kept on going aaaall night without even a 5 minute break.

The onsite parking is only for motorcycles and is not very secure, open from the street.
