Description

We couldn't go up the ramp of the other wild camp near the monastery, so looked a bit further up this side road. The view is amazing and the only things you'll hear are rushing mountain streams and chirping birds. And a mosque off in the distance, if you listen closely. We've been standing here since lunch and nobody came by until 8.30 the next day.

What a nice place! Some locals passed us in the morning and greeted us friendly. We stayed for two nights and had a good feeling leaving the tent and all the belongings for some hours. You can do one hike up too the mountains and one to the monastery.

Good place, we stayed 3 nights. No traffic, no one bothered us, only a few small places to park at the corners of the road, a bit uneven so park wisely.

Best stop before the Monastery, which became a tourist zoo after reopening. Cannot drive up the last 3km, the road is occupied by aggressive van drivers who will take you up there for a price. We chose to walk, and there’s a shortcut - small bridge on the right about half way through will take you by a shortcut. Great views but still in renovation (Sept 2019).

Still very good place, nice view, pretty good road, shade in the morning. Unfortunatly lots of trash.
