Rolled in here at 8:45 PM on a Friday night and only one spot was taken by the lake. found a nice spot for my rig and spent a quiet evening enjoying the glass like water and it's reflections. little bit back here on the dirt road but they were very well graded about half way in then it got a little more bumpy. low clearance vehicle could definitely drive it

Beautiful spot, awesome lake. Grabbed the last spot, not very level where we’re at. Good AT&T service. A bit bumpy heading to the sites by the water.

Like everyone says, amazing. BUT also, mosquitoes mosquitoes mosquitoes

Showed up on a Thursday afternoon and virtually the whole campground was taken up by 2 people. 1 had music blaring and trailers and tents set up in multiple sites, and another van had the large area on the left physically roped off for themselves. Whole vibe felt off so we ended up finding a nice spot by Lake Alva north of here.

One of the best free spots we’ve ever experienced! Very few people after a grizzly sighting scared a few campers off. We had great cell reception, and were able to work. Stayed about 10 days. Couldn’t get enough of the loons, dragonflies, frogs and non-poisonous snakes. The early-morning fog on the lake was breathtaking. Such a beautiful, peaceful place to be! This will be hard to beat! Oh, and the pit toilet was cleaned every week at least once!

One of our most favorite free spots, ever! A grizzly scared away a few campers here which left us virtually alone for the first 4 or 5 days. Stayed another 5 days or so. This place is AWESOME! There were very few mosquitoes while we were here. Lots of yellow jackets and dragonflies. The loons were calling the first few days here, and we saw frogs and non-poisonous snakes, too. Such a peaceful, beautiful place!

Great place! Was alone most of the time until locals joined the last night I was here but they were very nice. Pit toilet. 3-4 bars Verizon LTE. Lots of trees for shade but also spots of sun to charge solar panels if needed. Right on a beautiful little lake with no one on it

Not a “hidden gem” anymore. Got here on a Wednesday around 1pm. All the spots were taken. Found a spot in the woods, still very close to the lake, but super private and not right on top of your neighbor. Before the evening the spots on the lake were doubled up. So very happy I went into the woods. Found out sone locals took over 2 spots and set up to save for the weekend, they came and went, but didn’t stay overnight. My spot in the woods was great, private with a fire pit. Just walked to the lake as I wanted. Had no neighbors. I most likely wouldn’t ever come back. Too popular and crowded now. But a pretty little lake. Oh, lots of mosquitoes! Be ready!

Arrived mid June and the campground was pretty full. The road in was rough, but doable for most rigs, but would advise against any large 5th wheels or travel trailers.Managed to get a spot. The area is quite and allows for campers to be spread out.

Birders paradise! Solid spot. Only 2 others when we got here. Met some great folks and right on the lake. Locals secret for sure. Best to get here early as it can fill quick. Only 3 fire rings but a few other tuck in spots. One big spot for a large rig. Toilets too

Nice place near a lake. Arrived saturday, and it was mostly full. We took a not flat place but decided to stay another night and everyone leaved: real spots are flat and have a lot of space and coool firepits.

This place was awesome! Nice spot to be off the beaten path. Only one other person that came in late and couldn’t even be seen from our site.

Report Check-In

This is a top spot! 3 sites with fire rings available but there's plenty of room to share. Very quiet area, pit toilet as well. We wish we had something to paddle on the lake!

such a solid spot. we ended up claiming the last spot on early Friday morning. by Saturday everyone had cleared out and we shared the entire lake with one other couple. take the lower Lake Placid road that hugs the lake - SO much smoother and quicker and still gets you to the same spot.

also please be respectful! we had a group park their vehicles in our camping spot for day use and hang out in our area.

and if you are using the group area for 2 campers, please be respectful of allowing others to join you looking for a spot. there is plenty of room for all!

The best place to stay, right on the water. Off the beating path enough to not be crowded, the description is correct it is the spot. Great for kids! We didn’t want to leave

There are various ways to get here, but if you want the best road, get on North Placid Lake Rd, which is 4.7 miles south of downtown Seeley Lake.
