Work in progress. It’s why it’s good to come and ask to see ! They accepted us for 35b/p in dorm 3 people. It was very cold (end of may). Needing at least 5-6 blankets. So nice terrace mirador ! But cold too at night because was not totally close (probably soon). Showers were no power at all and toilet quite dirt and no paper. The place is nice, old stuffs, 2 old pianos with people playing well... After 5 nights we negociated 27b/p because of that conditions ! If you like a original place, quiet (we were alone during 5 days !), well situation... and you don’t mind about confort... it’s still in works so it should evolve ;)

closed. knocked and was told they are not open

Report Check-In

The hostel is currently closed for renovation. Couldn’t tell us when they will open again.

Report Check-In

I booked via Booking and when I arrived at 2 o’clock, the doors were closed. Nobody. A neighbor call the number and somebody (maybe the owner) explains that the place was closed for two months for renovations.
Actually they were some workers busy in the courtyard..

Report Check-In

Appears to be closed although signs are still up outside. Doors are padlocked.

Report Check-In

The hotel was closed, when we arrived. Not sure, maybe temporarly, the signs were still hanging

Good place to stay in Potosi. Access a bit demanding: through really steep one way roads. All the most interesting places in walkable distance.
Safe parking but as described before: narrow and low entrance.
Room and showers clean, water hot, breakfest simple.
For a double room with shared bathroom we paid 130BOB.
(option with private bathroom not available at the moment - meintenance in progress). WiFi varies: from none to quite fast.

It´s not perfect, but I liked it. Truely bolivian. Perfectly safe parking for the car, only normal size, max hight about 2,35 m. Very good beds, wifi and location, typical old style building, nice people. No lockers in the dorms. Sometimes slow maintenance. A bit tricky to get to it through all the one-way-streets.

Nice Hostel, friendly owners, good wifi, hot showers but few pressure, safe parking but be careful to not scratch your car while entering. We payed 60 for a dorm bed and 130 for a matrimonial. Breakfast was good with bread butter jam coffee eggs and fruit.
If you choose price over comfort a bit more down the street ist the felcar hostel for 35 pp but not the same comfort at all...

Report Check-In

40/b for a dorm without breakfast, and 60/b with, plus 10/b to park a motorcycle.

We stayed two nights here. They do not have set prices, so there's an option to barter, but make sure to pay at the start. When we arrived they said we could sleep in our car and pay 50bols for 2 people per night. When we checked out, they asked for 100 per night, and we settled on 60.
Same deal with the mine tours--the owner will tell you it's 100, but we had a tour with 2 of us for 80Bol each.
Wifi was good (even in the courtyard) showers were hot with little pressure, breakfast left something to be desired.
There is a dog in the courtyard who barked consistently throughout the night.
Our Kombi is 2.3 meters and barely fit (we're talking mms here), so not for big rigs.
Overall, okay place to stay, but we didn't like the inconsistency and difference in price we were told. Wouldn't return.

Endroit sympathique et typique en plein centre-ville.
Bon rapport qualité prix.

Report Check-In

The place has equally good sides as bad sides.
Good sides:
-nice location in town
-really secure parking
-comfortable beds
-3 blankets on each bed
-clean showers and kitchen
-beautiful colonial building
-slow, but functional wifi

Bad sides:
-some parts really need maintenance, power sockets were hanging loose on a live wire off the wall in our room...
-you have to be careful in the yard to not step into a dog poo and the yard itself could use tidying
-breakfast is really poor (milk, coffee/tee, margarine, jam and dry bread)
-there was no running water every afternoon for a few hours without any notice...
-the girls working there did not seem friendly (even though they really did good job cleaning facilities)
-a bit tricky to find it in town due to one way streets
-soundproofing is poor, so noisy neighbors can disturb your sleep

All in all not a worst place we stayed at :)

50 pp for dormitory (we had the one with only 4 beds total) and 10 per motorcycle for parking.

Great place, friendly owners, great location, good beds, hot shower but no much presión. Paid 60b per night including Moto parking inside and breakfast. Breakfast is basic, wifi is ok.

Report Check-In

Oops, in our earlier comment we should have said that the actual location is one block to the NW. Go downhill to reach the actual location, a big sign will greet you!

Report Check-In

Quick note...comfy bed, great moto parking, ok wifi, ok kitchen, friendly staff. IOverlander location is off. It's 1 block south (downhill).

Fit in with our Mitsubishi van but a friend with a VW van with roof rack wasn't able to fit through the gate. Was allowed to sleep in our van in courtyard, 2 ppl including breakfast for 100bob. May be possible to negotiate a better price. Internet was OK, comparable to most of what we encountered in Bolivia. Very hot showers although the pressure left something to be desired.

Report Check-In

Clean, good hot shower. Dormitory is 60 boli, motorcycle is 10 boli.

Report Check-In

beautiful charming old hostel with comfortable beds. showers have controllable heat. easy parking for bikes of small cars. centrally located and confusing to reach due to one way streets (use your gps). paid 50 bs for a form bed.

Report Check-In

100 per night for matrimonial. Shared bath. 5 per bike per night for parking. Very secure parking. Clean room though small. Decent wifi for Bolivia standards. Close to center.

Came back here a year later - much the same but communal toilets were a disgrace and the water pressure and wifi were poor.

Report Check-In

Hostel in a nice old building, 120B for a double with shared bathroom and including breakfast (bread, butter, jam, drinks), hot showers, communal kitchen, good wifi, clean, secured parking for our motorbikes (and possibly for cars) for 5B per bike
