Bolivia
Big rig friendly, nice garden with lots of animals, bathroom and shower, very quiet, directly at the beach, 20 Min walking to the village, internet (WiFi in the garden), nice manager. Very secure, if you want to leave your camper during the day (excursions, etc.), they close the gate at night but not every night. 30 Bol/per, Kids free previously, though recently it was 50 per, including kids.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
We stayed two nights. Very friendly and helpful. They did as well our laundry which was OK. We were the only camping guests.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for 3 nights. The toilets and showers were clean and the common indoor space had comfortable chairs and a killer view of the lake. The day we arrived we contacted Vidal (Inca Home Expeditions) by WhatsApp +591 641 03031 and arranged for a boat tour. He responded quickly and it was a fantastic tour (he speaks English, French and Spanish) it was 120Bob/pp all in. The campsite had a nice flat spaces. We were the only campers there. Easy walk into town. Friendly staff. 30Bob/pp to camp. Showers were warm.
Report Check-InNice owner.
A lot of animals run around your car (goats, chicken, cats and dogs), sometimes interesting, sometimes annoying.
Toilets clean.
Shower was never warm and is really dangerous (cables not isolated, light goes dark when shower starts, ...).
What I did not like is the high wall, so you can not really see the lake. Next time I would do some wild camping between this place and the town. It is really safe, everyone tells you that it is.
The staff said the water is NOT potable, fyi.
Report Check-InStayed 2 nights after crossing into Bolivia. 4 bathrooms, 1 shower. We never got hot water, sometimes just barely warm. Still a good spot. 30 BOB/pp/pn. Nice place to meet other overlanders and let our dog run around, but wild camping in the area seems totally secure as well. The manager is very friendly.
Report Check-InA really nice place. We stayed 4 nights instead of one. Also a good place to meet other overlanders. Showers are warm (if you don't turn on the light), facilities are amazing. In the lobby there's billard and soccer tables, cozy seating, beer and books. The water is potable (from a mountain lake, not from Lago Titicaca) so you can fill up your tanks. We liked the place very much.
Report Check-InWe liked our stay here for two nights. There is a lot of space to camp, also with your car or camper. Showers and toilets are clean. Warm water is relative. We paid 30BOL pp a night. We also chose to eat breakfast here, 20 BOL pp. nice breakfast! Perfect base to go to the isla del sol and have a safe space for your car. Owner was kind to us. You can also use space inside to sit at night.
Report Check-InWe loved our stay here, the hosts were lovely, the facilities are nice, and it’s a quick walk into town. They have pool tables and fooseball in the main lobby and sell water and beer. There’s a restaurant too but we didn’t use it. Great stoney beach directly across to hang out on or go for a dip.
Report Check-InVery beautiful campground, has everything and is close to town! We were informed when we arrived that the price is 30bs per person. However, when we left they told us it is 30bs per person plus 20bs for the camper. Very unfortunate that they didn’t inform us correctly in the beginning.
Report Check-InOne of our favorite campsites in Bolivia! Huge green, relatively leveled space with beautiful views of the lake. Facilities are very clean and functional. Caretakers are super nice. We paid 30bob per person camping and 20bob to park our van while we went to Isla del sol. 15min walk to town, therefore super quiet. We highly recommend.
Report Check-InPlace is nice, we payed 30BOB per Person.
Shower was barley warm first night, second night it was alright.
Drinkable water to fill up your tank.
Still shocked about the story in the previous comments.
He was nice to us, but yeah after reading that I would definitely not trust my car (+keys) this person.
Sorry to tell you but yes we got it picture proofed. As I said before he, Manuel, has two faces. The campsite is nice we agree but what he did to us we will never approve. Just to tell you, he admitted that he drove in it so…
Report Check-InComing from busy La Paz this place is a little piece of heaven to us. Very tranquilo and the big green garden with outlook over the lake gives stunning views.
Manuel only recently took over the place (3mts) and is working very hard to get everything up to par again. But in all honesty, it looks stunning already if you compare it with the average Bolivian standards.
We paid 50 BOL P/P P/N which i think is fair for the given. You can opt for breakfast which is 25BOL extra. There is potable water just in front of the stairs, comes straight from the mountains and tastes good.
For the rest they sell beer, snacks and you can enjoy yourself with a nice game of pool!
To overlander below;
I highly doubt you just wrote a wrong milage or remembered wrong, because as you can see from all other reviews, Manuel is not someone unkind. Furthermore, he has a campervan himself, and he's just building up the place and renovating, so it would make 0 sense to take your car and go driving around with it. If you have picture proof it's another story, but for now I call B$
I wrote another comment about 5 weeks ago.
To be nice and help those people to get the camping started.
True story; the owner has two faces!!!
We left our car for 5 weeks at the campsite. We left our key for emergency situations to replace the car for other guest or something.
Turned out the owner drove in our car for 950 km !!!!!
We were so angry and devastated. He didn't want to admit it at first, but when we started threatening he came clean.
Such a shame to scam people like this. 950 km is not a bit he could have crossed all Bolivia with it. Fortunately the car didn’t have any damage but still, someone is driving in your home.
So DONT LEAVE YOUR CAR HERE!!
Report Check-InNice buildings and gardens, but it seems like camping was an afterthought here. There’s a large mostly level field and a house of bathrooms plus one shower, lukewarm at low flow as previously described. Many spiders.
There’s no potable water and to get water for cooking we had to ask in their restaurant, which is tedious. Also no sink for washing dishes.
Price was 50 BOB per person, firm price even for a 3-night stay, and kids paid full price. We stayed anyway because we were tired, but for the money you could probably do better elsewhere.
Report Check-InWe stayed here 5 nights. Very friendly owners. Bathroom and toilets available. Nice place inside where you can play some pool, chess or just enjoy the view. Paid 30BOB per person.
Report Check-InStayed here for 5 nights. Enjoyed it a lot. Very nice manager, speaks English and is very helpful. They just started to take over the camping and they’re doing great.
Big space inside to sit when it rains. Beautiful garden and wonderful views. Easy 15 min walk to town along the lake. 30 bob per person.
Shower is not the best but they’re about to do something about it. Toilet paper available. Big rigs will fit easily at this big camping area.
Nice place . New owners. Manuel and Yariza. They speak english and french. Super friendly couple.
The price is 30 bs per person. Includes wifi, electricity and water.
Please contact Yariza before +591 67006699
Report Check-InOK place to stay a night or two but don't expect anything special. showers are barely warm at best and the bathroom is quite dirty. we paid 50bol for one night, and could leave our car for the rest of the day when we went to the island. owners are very helpful and speak English. breakfast is 20bol, again ok but nothing special.
Report Check-InNous avons passé 1 nuit, au calme, plat, herbeux, wifi, douche, wc, eau. Au bord du lac.
Pas d’électricité, à 2,5 km de la basilique de Copacabana
Wonderful stay!
The staff is great, the dog too.
Breakfast is gorgeous, buffet style.
We paid 15bpp with our tent.
Bathrooms not very clean, that’s the only downside.
Perfect place nice grass area electricity and water potable available the owner is super nice and you have a nice lake view
Space ok for our pickup + trailer
Report Check-InStayed 4 nights, paid 70pn for 2 adults/4 kids. Awesome spot. Should’ve stayed longer. Walk into town is perfect for sedentary overlanders.
Report Check-InWe paid 50bol for two people per night. It’s also okay to leave it to stay on the island, in which case it’s 25. The bathrooms were very clean and the well stocked with toilet roll. The area felt safe and it’s about a 15-20 minute walk to the town. Also there’s two super cute dogs here!
Report Check-InWe really enjoyed our stay here. Agree with the comments below. Electric shower is hot if you turn the flow as low as possible. Fast wifi. There’s also a pool table and fooseball in the reception area if you get a rainy day. They have a friendly German shepherd and a shepherd puppy that is the cutest ball of fluff. There’s a fire pit area we enjoyed having a braai on one night also. We received mixed opinions on if it’s safe to walk home from town after dark. This place would be 5 stars if they cleaned the washrooms. 50bobs for 2.
Report Check-InWe stayed 3 nights at this campsite and paid 50 bolivianos per night. Nice place at the lake, good walking distance to town, good wifi and we were able to use the kitchen (there were hardly any guests at the hotel during our stay). The grass field and the toilets could definitely be cleaned more often.
Report Check-Inwe were here for a week! And we enjoyed the campsite very much! It was wonderful to finally be back in nature after lapaz.
Report Check-InIt is a beautiful and quiet place. In addition to the already mentioned features, there is a possibility to connect the vehicle to the electric current, if you have your own power cable.
Report Check-InWe didn't stay here but called in to fill up our water. They let us fill up 50 litres for free and offered us wifi.
Report Check-Inon a passé une nuit ici, très calme. 50 bols la nuit. wifi fonctionne très bien, eau a dispo, WC et douches propres. proprio sympa.
Report Check-InThis was a really nice place! we stayed 5 nights, 50 Bs per night. Very quiet, Danilo the owner IS friendly and can recommend good Tours to the Islands. shower is clean but just sometimes hot. City is in walking distance. Recommended!
Report Check-InRosmarie&Peter
Stayed 5 nights here at this perfect place. Save, clean, in good walking distance to the town.
Danilo is a very good host, friendly and helpful. 40 BOL per night for the motorhome. Highly recommended!
We came for the amount of good comments, but we didn't have such a good experience.
We were told that the showers were only working with cold water because they are heated by solar panels and it was raining - which, after two days of taking cold shower, found out it was a lie and that the key was turned off.
We stayed here for 4 days, recovering from an intestinal infection, and the bathroom was not cleaned once - we cleaned ourselves to continue using it. The wifi worked well, and there was no energy available for camping. We paid 25 bs per person per day.
_______
Report Check-InGreat place for camping. Lots of level space, clean toilets. Shower is electric and was not working properly, had to fix the fuse twice.
Wi-Fi reaches camping area.
Asked 35BOL pp per night.
Nice place, clean, quiet and safe. Hot showers, fast WiFi, potable water. Nice staff, who can organize day trips to the Isla del Sol. Lots of Restaurants in a few minutes walking distance. Billiard table and TV in the reception area. 30 Bol. pP.
Report Check-InVery friendly staff, nice and quite near to Copacabana, close to the pebblebeach. Recommendable.
Report Check-InWe stayed one night. The lady was super friendly and copacabana is a nice town if its not weekend. Only medium warm shower, but very clean toillet compared to the rest of bolivia. If you dont need facilities you may want to stay just infront of the ecologe. Super safe and tranquillo.
Report Check-InSpend 2 nights here. Its worth it to negotiate about the price. She wanted 90 bob a day. We came down to 60 for 2 pers and a van. Great place with nice toilets and a hot shower in one of the rooms. Nice titicaca lake view. Copacabana is a nice town and a good first impression about Bolivia.
Report Check-InNice place to stay with good wifi, nice bathrooms and hot shower available to use inside a room. Paid 30k bobs/person. She wanted to charge for the camper as well but negotiated to 60k per night total for two of us in a truck camper. Nice walk to the cute town along the water. Stayed two nights and recommend
Report Check-InAt first asked 35bob the vehicle and 35bob for me. At the end it was 35 for the vehicle and me.
Clean toilets. The hot shower is broken.
Best place to camp (paid) on the lake in my opinion. 30BOB per person. Toilets clean and with toilet paper(!). Camping shower doesn’t have hot water. But ask and the owner can let you use a shower in an empty room. Nice hot showers.
Wonderful place and would stay again.
Report Check-InNice place directly on the lake. The lodge houses look very nice, but we stayed there with our camper, so no insight in the lodge. Enough space for a lot of campers or tents. Toilets are available very close to the camping area. Not sure about shower, as we didn't use it. Toilet very clean. For extra charge they will serve you a really good breakfast. Wifi is really good, I even had reception on the beach. We paid 25 per person.
Report Check-InStayed just one the night, you could easy just stay on the beach outside. But it is New Year’s Eve, so more partying on the beach. The toilets were over flowing, but it is evident the toilets had has some effort put into them, so hopefully a one off experience.
Report Check-InOk place. Stayed 2 nights, 25BOB pp. toilets and showers were not very clean. Owner/person behind reception was not very nice. Not allowed to eat inside the common area. Wifi was ok.
Report Check-InWe stayed here for one night. Nice common area, shower needs some love. When we told them our issues with the shower they gave us a cabana to shower. Very friendly new owner
Report Check-InFirst they wanted 30 Bs/person, but after we negotiated they agreed with 25 Bs/person.
We were told the water is potable, but our short before cleaned filters reduced after 60 liters their pressure.
Quiet.
We were very happy here. The lodge has got beautiful views on the lake. Wifi is slow and toilets and shower not very clean (only person who was doing something was one young man otherwise whole family nothing. Which is a pity cause if they will clean the place it will be much nicer. You have tea and coffee for free. Night as overlanders costed us 25 BOB per person and shower you can take also in one of their huts if it is no one there. It is 10mins from the center.
Report Check-InSuper nice campground. Clean and quite. you can use the lobby and there is coffee and tea for free. Very nice stuff. Internet is fast and showers are hot - this is why I changed the category. We were told that water is potable. 25 bolivianos per person. Big rig and dog friendly.
Report Check-InTo clear up the price, when we arrived Elsa the lady working here charged us 30 PP which was fine by us. Includes use of indoor solar shower, tea and coffee, outdoor and indoor loos (both perfectly fine) pool table and football table. However 4 days later the owner returned from La Paz and we overheard him charge other couples 25pp. We politely asked why and he instantly refunded us the difference for 6 nights (30BOB pp) in cash - a super nice guy! So just state the cost is 25 when you come. Besides that we planned to stay for only 2 nights but spent a week here due to Semana Santa and loved it! friendly, chilled vibes and a lovely walk to town, safe and quiet too though.
Report Check-InGreat place to enjoy the lake Titicaca, very nice staff, free WiFi, tea and coffee for free at the reception. Amazing sunset, we highly recommend this place.
We payed 25BOL p/p for camping.
beautiful place on the beach, very gentle people. thete is a lot of space even for big rigs. hot showers, clean bathrooms. payed 60 bol for two people and the car, power is included. good wifi. after heavy rain it could be muddy, but we can recommend this place.
Report Check-InA very quiet place just next to Lake Titicaca. Bathrooms were ok, people friendly, WiFi average, nice grassy area for camping. 20 min walk into town. Very pleasant and tranquilo.
Report Check-InQuaint lodge with a few cabins. Nice garden. Right on edge of lake. Nice grassy flat space for overlanders. We paid 30 bol/person. Safe, quiet place. Locked gate at night. Slow WiFi. Clean bathrooms (we noticed reviews from two different people on same date, one says clean and the other says disgusting. Clearly this is a matter of personal expectations, but we thought bathrooms were perfectly fine, and much nicer/cleaner than many we have seen).
Report Check-InCertainly cheap. 70 Bols for 2 adults. Kids didn’t pay (5 & 3 y o)
But sooo discusting.. we didn’t bother to shower.. it was very very dirty !! WiFi on and off .. pets allowed but only on leash..
Way overpriced for what it is. 140 BOB for 2 adults and 2 kids after haggling. 18 x 6 meters parking lot, use of outside bathrooms, 1 electric shower. not permitted to use common area inside hotel. no kitchen, no water, no electricity. wifi free nowadays but barely usable. NB: the beachfront outside is very safe and free - no need to pay for this unless one feels compelled to sleep behind a locked gate.
Report Check-InWiFi was free today. They provided the password at the counter. As a camper you are only allowed to use the bathrooms in the garden. There is one suicide shower with an average water temperature. The bathrooms are clean. There is no sink but an outside tap.
The common indoor area is reserved for hotel guests.
It is a very nice spot to stay on a grassy ground close to the lakeside however there is no during the day shade. If you like dogs there are plenty of friendly dogs around, from the ecolodge and from outside.
nice spot. 30bob pppn, 10 extra per day for internet. internet only worked 2 out of 4 days. enough toilets and showers but they don't get cleaned regularly. nice walk to town
Report Check-InCoordinates are correc!
Maps.me shows Ecolodge at the wrong spot.
30 pp direct at the lake.
Nice place
The campground is at the "Ecolodge Copacabana". If You Do not want to stay at the parking of Hotel Gloria nor freecamping at the Beach, this is an exzellent Option: Big rig friendly, nice Garden, clean bathroom and shower, very quiet , directly at the Beach, 10 Min walking to the village, Internet, nice Manager. Very Secure, if You want to leave your Camper during the day (Excursions, etc.), they close the Gate at Night. 30 Bol/per night, Kids free. In the future they will enlarge the campground (they have a big unused space...)
