Great spot in a canyon under a large mopani trip. Not too windy, lots of trees and signs of animal life. Follow GPS coordinates as no sign that we could find.

This campsite is a little difficult to identify but we made a good guess based on the remnants of fires we saw on the ground. Some nice shade from the trees, and surrounded by impressive mountains. Other than that we didn't see very much as the river was dry. But we found it to be a good distance from the entrance to the Palmwag conservancy (about 7h driving at a leisurely pace through jaw-dropping scenery) on the way to Sesfontein (approx another 3h through the Hoanib river bed) given we only planned to stay in the conservancy one night.

In our opinion the most beautiful site between C1 and C7 because it is green (Trees and bushes), has shade, wind protection and animals (C2 is ok too because is has a shady tree and is below a small cliff.) It took us 6 hours from the Palmwag Lodge to get here with lots of photo stops on the way. Did not see any other car but lots of springbocks anywhere, steenbocks, mountain zebras, karoo kohrhan and many other birds! Very wild and remote - we loved it. The night sky is amazing. Enjoy.

Beautiful, wide open area under huge trees in the Mudorib riverbed. Labeled as C-7 on the map which is provided at entrance to the concession. Like all other sites in the Palmwag Concession, no facilities at all. Fortunately, this site was clean since everyone had packed out their trash, including toilet paper. Fire pit. Cost per night in the concession is N$360 for two people and a vehicle (N$120 pp and per vehicle).
We didn't see or hear an abundance of wildlife in June 2017. Did see tons of tracks including giraffe, black rhino, and elephant. And in the Hoanib we saw a lone desert elephant!
