We forgot the TIP and nearly had to gall the way back to the airport but she accepted the digital copy i had done online for the aduana form somehow. $80 for 2 months Argentina, Chile, Bolivia. nice people. Bought 2 years for $300 for a truck camper for $5000 in third party liability (responsabilidad civil) good for Bolivia, Peru, Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. Bring passport, drivers license, vehicle title and registration. Can be paid in USD or Bolivianos. Plenty of ATMs in the area. I had emailed Daniel prior our visit and I’m glad I did because the agent said the maximum was 1 year but when I showed her Daniel’s email it was ok.

Attention, cette assurance n'est plus dans la course pour le Mercosur. Ils sont les seuls sur La Paz à assurer des véhicules étrangers pour le Mercosur et ils en ont profité pour augmenter énormément leurs tarifs : 180 $ pour 6 mois pour une voiture (soit environ 26 euros par mois) à comparer à 15 euros pour 3 mois (5 euros par mois) une assurance achetée directement au Pérou ou 15 € par mois une assurance Mercosur achetée en Argentine.

I was told I could have 1,2 and 4 months priced at 50,80 and 130US respectively. Took half a day to process. can insure neighbouring countries but you can't get Uruguay. She speaks very good English and is very friendly. No problems. She will photocopy your documents. Can pay in US or local. The location marker for this office is spot on.

they sell insurance for Peru, but not the mandatory one (soat), which you can get only at some border crossing. 50 US dollars for one month, 80 US for two month. Covers damages to other cars or objects up to 5000Us dollars. The soat would cover only for medical assistence to the other person in case of an accident. Wie didnt buy it.

We purchased motorcycle insurance for Bolivia, Chile, Argentina, and Uruguay for five months at a cost of US$160 per bike.

They needed a photocopy of title and passport. We filled out forms and then had to return the next day for the policies and to pay.

While there we spoke with the operations manager who is Bolivian/American and has perfect English and he gave the following additional information:
Just in case, we also have an 800 number which is free to call from any phone within Bolivia, cell or land-line: 800-10-7005. Unfortunately, the people that answer that number don´t usually speak English, but I assume it can still be useful for Spanish-speakers, especially in the case of an accident.

You can purchase insurance for neighboring countries here. 75 USD for 3 month policy, 50 USD for 1 month, 130 USD for 1 year. Ask for Rosia. There is also a manager there who speaks English. Make sure to bring car title, drivers license and passport. We picked up our papers the following day but they could do a day turn around.
