Just before Quilmes ruins entrance.. Nice spot for the desert lovers,
At your right hand site of the entry gate at the ruïnas de Quilmes is a flat sandy parking lot. You're allowed to stay overnight for free when visiting the ruinas. Just ask the guard (who stays the whole night in the guard house), we gave him a small tip. Water, toilets and electricity available next of the guard house. We had a very quite night.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Bon endroit calme pour passer la nuit. Aucun service mais le tel fonctionne bien.
Report Check-InGreat spot to stay for the night after visiting the ruins. We asked the security guard if we could stay and they had no problem. Toilet and shower (cold)- very clean and new. Very peaceful night, nice sunset and sunrise ☀️
Report Check-InWe had a very quiet and calm night. We stayed almost under the power lines, close to the entrance. There's internet (Originarios2021), toilets and (cold) showers, which can be used for free. Toilets are still being built, but fully usable and very clean. There's water you can get from a tap on the other side of the road, from the administration. We saw parrots and other birds, a fox, llamas, donkeys and (I believe) wild pigs. Oh, and a very friendly dog too. :) There are some places you can set a small fire, but we didn't use it because it was rainy. Very nice place to overnight. And don't miss visiting the sacred city of Quilmes. It's a very powerful story. We paid ARS 500 per person for visiting the museum, watching the very touching movie and a 15 minutes guided tour. After that you can spend the entire day walking the ruins. We loved it.
Report Check-Inótimo lugar para passar a noite. super tranquilo e seguro. Há gente na portaria, noite e dia, cuidando do local. Há água, banheiros e ducha. Internet livre.
vale acordar de madrugada para apreciar as estrelas. Lindo!
Wet quiet night. We recommend getting here in the evening to hike the ruins in the cool weather. We arrived at 5:30, paid the entrance fee and hiked the ruins. Slept in the gravel lot, walked through the museum in the morning, and then filled with water (non potable but clear) before leaving. Great history here. Hiking up to the viewpoint at the ruins was cool. We saw pájaros, hawks, a falcon, burros, and I think a Puma in the dark when shooting the stars. At least, it will always be a puma in my mind. Clean flush bathrooms, cold shower also available. We love the desert so this place was right up our alley. The video in the museum is a little gruesome for the youngest (6yo) but the story of this culture and their journey is a great lesson for all of us.
Report Check-InNoite muito tranquila, terreno plano. Tem banheiros, água e Wi-Fi na portaria.
Report Check-InRight at the entrance to the ruins, no problem sleeping here. Very quiet place.
Report Check-InI confirm that it is always possible to sleep at the entrance to the site. Park with trees and firepits. Toilets and drinking water. Very quiet in the middle of nature. No wifi.

Report Check-InConfirm what others said: free parking if you enter the ruins, very quiet and peaceful. Saw foxes, llamas and parrots as well as cactuses
Report Check-InAs said, nice quiet place in the desert that we enjoyed spending the afternoon and night at. There is a 4G signal for Movistar and a Wi-Fi signal from the ruins but we could only connect in the evening. We saw a fox twice, lots of parrots and two llamas walked right by us.
Report Check-InJust as described. Beautiful place to stay for the night.
Friendly staff.
Toilets are being rebuilt, but still can be used. Very clean!
Water from a tap next to the parking lot. They told us it was potable so we drank it.
We were on bicycles, so we could kind of hide the tent behind some bushes after the parking lot.
There were even a fire pit, a kind of stone table and lots of fire wood.
We were visited by foxes, cats and donkeys during the night.
Great stary sky at night and beautiful sunrise over the mountains.
Un bivouac calme et sûr avant ou après la visite des ruines. Possibilité d'avoir de l'eau (non potable) en demandant au gardien du site.
quiet and safe place for one night before visiting the site. water near the guard's house and toilets on the site
Report Check-InHello
Great place for sleep to the entrance of the park.
Entrance fee is 70 for adults only (nice when you have 3 children)
Really nice crew .
This place is very interesting to visit.
No problem for motorhome.
You sleep under the stars with donkeys, goats and fox...
A quiet place for the night before or after the visit of the ruins. There can be some cattle around as well as flies.
Report Check-InSuper nice staff, they change over at 8pm and so someone is here all night. Water around the area is now potable, baños weren't the nicest though (nicer ones up the road at the actual ruins). Lots of wild donkeys running around. Shops at the site also stock some cervezas for a great sunset!
Report Check-InVery nice staff indeed! They offered hot water and everything you would need. Close to the entrance but no one in the night. Toilets are not super clean but there is toilet paper, recommend the toilets at the ruins. Water available.
If you have the time camp two nights and use the whole day to explore the site. We climbed up to the top of the hill, which is totally fine with the guides, and were rewarded with an incredible view over the valley
and a condor passing by super close.
Good free spot to stay before after quilmes tour.
friendly staff. water and toilets
You can see goats, donkeys and foxes around the camp :)
Nice place, very friendly staff.
There is toilet near the little building
We arrived just before 7pm when the gate was closing. The gate man was very helpful and pointed us to a park area we could camp at. Great to overnight before going into the park at 8am in the morning when the gates open. AP30 entrance fee to the park....camping for free!
Report Check-InFree and we were told to use the toilets in the ruins. Friendly staff on the gate to the ruins and they were there all night. Donkeys and goats wandered through as there is a water trough next to the site. Nice place to camp.
Report Check-InNo Facilities. Free. Dirt area just before entrance to Quilmes. We asked to camp at Quilmes and were told to go here. Quite windy but died down at night. There are toilets in the ruins.
Report Check-InAmenities: 0 / price: 0 / our rating: 3. Just before Quilmes ruins entrance.. Nice spot for the desert lovers, a dry 95 degrees when we pulled in.
