We think this is temporary but up past the town of unchos there was a road block. Better go the other (more winding) route to Lake Churup. Maybe ask locals first.

To go to lake Churup take the 14A Interoceanica instead, the windy road that goes around Unchos. The 14A is the main road.
Report Check-InRoad is open and in good condition. Took us about an hour from Huaraz to the parking lot in Pitec.
