This is a well established national park modeled after those by the US park service, at a high elevation (plan for cold, rapidly changing weather). Camp in a large forested area with picknick tables, fire rings and a BBQ. Pit toilets hidden in between the trees. Sites are generously large. There are cabins for rent as well.
Day use charge per person per day. On site are a national observatory, ropes course, mountain bike trails, museum and an overlook. The road is an exit off highway 1 that winds up through the mountains. It is steep grade in some areas and has sharp turns that might challenge a long rig.
No services, starting from hwy 1 (warning sign on exit): Take fuel, food (and charcoal, but no firewood: it is allowed to collect on site), water, toilet paper. No cell coverage.
