Behind the Tourist Information. Very big parking with RV slots. Very quiet.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
This is a great quick spot for the night near the border. I did not end up crossing the border until almost 11 PM and pulled into the gravel parking lot about 15 minutes later. Very quiet for the night with no traffic passing by. I have three bars of service and there’s a nice clear view of the north sky if you have a Starlink.
Report Check-Inwe parked in the gravelled lot, to the right of the paved parking of the Tourist information building, beside the picnic tables. nobody !! it was raining,
Report Check-InJust like previous posters mentioned, we tucked in behind the store next door to the tourist information building where there is a park with picnic tables. Quiet, no one bothered us, great rest. Highly recommend the carriage shop as it is truly a world-class museum, much more interesting than it sounds, also offering horse drawn carriage rides & tours. A hidden gem worth exploring!
Report Check-InQuiet, nice spot on a parking lot, I took the one in gravel, better leveled, also in the shade of trees witch was really helpful with the heat. 50km from waterton national park and great internet ( really poor in the park, so be prepared)
Report Check-InStayed one night before crossing to the US. Large parking lot, some lighted spots some not. Park nearby so people coming and going. A few people pulled in later in the evening. Would be cautious staying too late as the museum opens at 10am, unsure if they'll care since it's a shared parking lot.
Report Check-InGreat for overnight. Good location for visiting Writing On Stone and Watertown Lakes National Park.
Report Check-InThe tourist Information parking lot is big plus there is another smaller lot behind the stores next to the information wich is more hidden and next to a nice park with picnic tables. When we arrived the information was closed and we didn't get wifi until the next morning around 9am. When the visitor centre is closed there are no toilets in the area at all. If you walk/drive a bit you'll find A&W for free wifi and gas stations with bathrooms. At night it was quiet but I only recommend this if you are already in the area, a longer drive isn't worth it. From waterton national park e.g. it's about 40mins drive.
Report Check-InStayed a night before crossing the border to the US. We were the only ones and had a quiet night with no problems. And we even had wifi connection in the van!
