Camp on private land with level ground. Easy access for Vans and Tents but not for Big Rigs, some local stores around. Excellent for getting away from it all.

Really nice spot, super natural, near the mountains and in the middle on a really beautiful garden. On November 2021 it was open. We payed 240M$ for 2 peoples and a tent. A lot of Mexicans during the weekend. 10M$ for a combi to Tepoztlán. Great restaurant “Quetzalcoatl something” in Amatlán, 5min walking. Just, be careful, there is scorpion during this season in this area ;)

We arrived on a Thursday around 6pm. The gate is directly after the river crossing on the left. Nobody at the campground, gate closed. We then stayed in the river bed, there is space for one camper van. Locals told us it is safe.

The owner was nice enough but it doesnt make it worth 70 pesos per person! Also, it's just a muddy mosquito-infested field. You have to ford a creek to reach the place (very hard to find, we had to ask multiple locals). High clearance definitely required. But the downside of the high clearance is that you will only be able to park right by the entry gate which is not near the very primitive pit toilets or previously mentioned nice view. There are giant trees covering the rest of the property with big branches that were not possible to pass under in anything but a small passenger car. For example, we were in a Tacoma and 1.9 meters high and could not even come close to passing under the trees to the "better" camp spots. If we weren't so exhausted from driving all day and trying to find the place (it's over 30 minutes drive from the city center on narrow winding roads) we would have just left. Also, dogs barked all night and one helped himself to our trash while we were standing right there. Would not stay again or recommend.
