arrived at around 11Pm, no spots were taken, paid the 20$ with the self check in and had a good sleep. Will definitely be staying again on my way through in the future.

Beautiful and quiet location behind a church.
Easy to check in regardless of time. Just fill out a form and pop your money in envelope and post it through the door - forms are left outside.

Clean toilets, bins, great WiFi.

There is drinkable water from an outside tap, it comes from Cherry Creek which is the best water in Alberni.

Lovely place, highly recommend!

Easy access, self check-in. Large field with +/- 12 camping spots. You can drive your vehicle up to your spot, as I've been told by the groundskeeper, but most people just park in the parking space, keeping the field neat and clean. Also nice individual toilets with soap and hand sanitizer.

As described. $20 by self registration. 12 sites with fire pit and picknick table. Bring your own wood. Clean flush toilets, one male/one female with sink and running water. No shower. When we arrived (6 pm) there was plenty sites left. Good WiFi (free)

Nice grassy campground with fire pits and picnic benches. Each site is separated by a rope so there’s no real privacy. The internet is run from an access point about 400ft away and is a decent connection (about 5mbps down and 1mbps upload with about 20-100ms pings). There are also some decent bathrooms 400ft away.

Just FYI the site is definitely NOT “suggested donation”. It is required to pay $20 per night to camp. If you’re looking for a cheap place to sleep very close to Port Alberni this is it. It also benefits a good cause.

The words ‘donation’ and ‘fee’ are interchangeable here. I’m not religious but the church offers such a great camping service, paying $20 was no hardship and definitely worth it.

There are 10 level plots around a little field and each with a picnic bench and fire pit. There’s one women’s and men’s flush toilet which is very clean. No hot water but it’s no bother.

We were offered free firewood and there is a hose for water onsite (don’t know if potable but most likely it is).

It’s nice and quiet and there’s a lovely little walk through the woods to the creek at the back. Lovely spot. Please take care of it and be respectful, it deserves it.

Didn’t slept here because when we arrived there was a sign saying “donations suggested 20$...” so not really free...
we slept instead at the Walmart just down the road for free for the same “not” amenities.

The campground opens may 1. We asked if we can stay just on the parking lot of the church and they allowed us to stay! Thank you!! Take care to this campground / parking lot, it is great to have spots like this!!

Camping available in Church grounds.. picnic tables and fire pits.. Washrooms but no shower..
Great flat level and dry camping..
It's done for fund raising and is on a donation basis. Quiet
