Description

*Sep 2022: There are mixed messages about whether or not passage for campers is permitted. Marked as 'Closed' for now.

*Comment 01/2018: unfortunately not possible to ship our VW t2 kombi to the island. They told us the ferry is only for cargo trucks
.....
We took the car ferry to Isla Holbox, it runs a few times a day, ask at the white counter right after the barrier for schedules and prices. We paid 580 MXP for a VW T3 including 2 persons (see picture for the price list). There are some wild camp options at the beaches of Holbox, e.g. Punta Coco. For us it really was worth taking our car there! Streets there are narrow (lots of golfcarts), but we also saw small-sized lorries.

Free bathrooms on board!!!

Report Check-In

We cross with the trucks at the second time, as the first ferry was full. 1500 pesos after bargaining a bit for our camper of 24 feet included 2 adultes and 2 kids for both ways. Worth to do it!
