Update 03/03/23: NO RVs anymore; ONLY TENTS & CABANAS
Closest place to stay by the Belize Zoo. Good place to camp, brand new bathrooms with gigantic showers and covered picnic tables. Lots of people stay here in the cabins to do the night tour of the zoo. We went during the day and saw everything but the spider monkeys. Electricity available only in the office.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
No overnight for vans, only tent and cabanas. we asked today, March 26 and they told us to go to Amigos down the road.
we asked for showers and they let us use them for free
Report Check-InWe sleept for 2 nights ( 06-08.03.2023) with our RV on the Parking lot, which is levelled, big rig friendly and lights and a security camera. They charged us the 8,75 USD per Person. This is absolute ok, because you have Hot clean Shower, clean toilet with seat and paper and a beautiful pool with mosquito protection. You have also free drinking water and WiFi at the dining room. The Staff are sooo friendly. Perfect place for bird watching. You will find some hikes around the Center. Here are a lot of Parrots and sometime Owls. Walking to the Zoo ~15/20 Minutes
Report Check-InStopped here for the night while cycling through Belize.
Lovely campground for tents with good showers, swimming pool and a restaurant where they can prepare dinner and breakfast.
BL$17.50 per person per night.
Have been told that they don’t take RVs anymore.
ONLY TENTS & CABANAS
we wanted to stay overnight here with our camper but they didn't let us. they told us that the last RVs got stuck in the camping area. we asked if we could then stay at the parking lot for one night - but it was not ok either; at least they let us shower before we left.
NO campers vans or rvs allowed as of March 2023. only tents
Management noticed damage to the lands and they plan on investing into it but haven't yet
On a aperçu 2 agoutis
I confirm what it was said before. Amazing place and team ! Everyone was so nice to us. Everything is beautiful and clean. We did also laundry (10us$ per load). I would definitely go back there 😃
Report Check-InAnother vote for this awesome place. We camped, fantastic showers, toilets etc. Massive pool, which is protected from bugs! Had a swim all to myself. Staff so friendly and helpful. We ate in the restaurant, one tip, if possible try and book restaurant before you arrive if possible. There is a set meal with set price, dietry options. Wifi good in restaurant. Can walk to Zoo from here.
Report Check-InThis place deserves more credit. It's still $8.75pp and Carlos showed us around and let us set up next to the pool in our rooftop tent. He also shared so much information on the wildlife. We got to see tapirs but couldn't spot the Croc in the pond, he must have felt shy! They have a huge dining room with WiFi and hot showers. A must visit if passing through
Report Check-Inlooks wonderful, but due to issues with pets and the wildlife, pets are no longer allowed.
Report Check-InAmazing place! Still 8.72 USD per persons. With our High Top Toyota Land Cruisers we were able to camp in the nice grassy camping area. The hot showers with good pressure were the best we had in a long time. Clean Toilets with fitting toilet seats and toilet paper (we come from Mexico so we really appreciate this). Nice swimmingpool, a pond with a croc. The owners were really extremely nice!! Free tea and coffee in the dining area and they cook very good food (better tell them in advance if you eat at the restaurant, as there is no menu, they just cook the same for everyone).
Use bug spray, in this whole area there are nasty botlass flies around that will bite you!
beautiful place with some very nice hikes through the woods. toilets and showers as well as a pool available. walk to the belize zoo about 2km.
Report Check-InWe spend a wonderfull time in this place.
Swimming Pool, hot shower, clean toilets for 17 dollars Bélizeen per pers. Kids don’t pay.
We have diner on this place price 24 dollars Bélizeen per pers. The meal was so good !!! I recommend it ! And the staff is very nice .
camping now $8.72 usd pp. includes hot shower, pool, drinking water, WiFi (WiFi doesn't reach camping area). Contrary to previous post you can still drive up and park in the camping area (maybe not large rigs). Zoo is a bit over a mile walk away.
Report Check-InBeautiful place in the middle of nature. Clean pool and sanitary facilities. They allow RV's only in the parking lot. We were lucky and stayed close by the pool but the way in is small. We are 3.5m high, more than that is impossible! Restaurant serve dinner but only on booking.
Report Check-InYou can stay for the night here without problem Quiet place and your money is for the zoo 4$ pp
Report Check-InWe came just arrived here with our van. We could camp at the parking for 34 Belize. Hmmm we didn’t like to sleep on a parking without anything.
You can not enter with your car to the pool anymore
Nice place to stay for one or two nights. Close to the Belize zoo. Very clean showers and toilets.
Report Check-InThe manager was super friendly and let me stay as bicycle tourist for free because of low season. The area is super nice for camping. The pool is good, you have some banks and table and the bathrooms are super big and modern as described. Would definitely recommend it. Camping 8 bz the night.
Report Check-InAs described; Nice area next to the zoo with nice common areas with water/tea/coffee all the time. We camped next to the pool area with our truck with RTT. The woman at the office wanted to have 5US $ for the pool. We left to the zoo and came back after it and paid the camping fee to another guy, he said that it doesn't cost any money to use the pool... Anyway it's a nice and quit stay! A bit expensive with 34 BZ $ for 2 people.
Good place for a night in the parking. Near bathroom with hot and clean showers. Swimming pool is quite nice. 8,75 bz per adult free for kids.
Just stopped for one night. Worth the stop. Good hiking trails, hot showers, electricity available with a long cord. GPS coordinates were for old entrance from rear, no longer used, entrance is off main highway, proper coordinates are; 17.36049, -88.54460. Which have now been updated.
Report Check-InBeautiful quiet place to stay a little longer. The staff ist so nice and helpful and make your stay really comfortable. We have a small camper van and could camp next to the pool. Clean and good working facilities, shower is hot! Internet works great. Lots of birds to see and the trails are short and easy with different vegetation. 35,- BZ for two people in a camper. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner also available. Drinking water, tea, coffee available for free the whole day. We loved this place!
Report Check-InA nice place, worth spending a little more time beyond just sleeping. Drove overv after the zoo. They have several hiking trails. We checked in at the office with Juan Carlos and told him we had visited the zoo that day and he didn't charge us for breakfast the next morning.
Parked next to the pool.
Once the WiFi started working in the office/dining area it was great.
35 belize dollars pour un couple ,ne pas prendre le chemin indiqué par gps , suivre panneau bleu sur le bord de la route ...
Report Check-InNice place, same price. Very fast wifi, clean pool away any mosquitos or flies, very great shower, friendly people and very good wifi around the office and in the dining room. A few little hikes to do for stretch your legs if you want. Perfectly located for the zoo. Do not follow maps.me, the entrance is now on the highway, after the zoo on the right if you come from Belmopan.
Report Check-InWonderfull!
The place is entirely based around animals conservacy / observation.
The zoo only has injurys or ancient pet animal that saved and can't live in wild. So it's more than a simple zoo, they really teach you about conservation! The night tour defenetly worth it!
By the way...the hot shower...after a month without hot shower?! Oh... Ahah.
Stay free
Aloha
Lovely spot. Hot, clean showers. We parked next to the pool, I think because no one else was around, so it was super peaceful waking up to hear only birds. The zoo night tour was really interesting, definitely recommend it! This place will drive you to the zoo for the tour at 7pm.
Report Check-InPaid $34.50Bzd for two people, two dogs, electrical and truck camper. Parking lot camping and run 50ft to plug in. Hot showers. Clean toilets. Nice trails. Some road noise but a fan covered it. A new swimming pool. Dining room with free water and coffee. Let them know if you want meals. Also have Cabañas and a great tent area. Very nice people here.
Report Check-InSylvia und Paul: You camp in the parking lot and You pay 17,44 Belize Dollars per person per night.
Beautiful property.
Truck camping is in parking lot which is a little too bad.
Great facilities ; toilets, shower.
Cold beer in bar. Didn't eat here.
Nocturnal zoo tour was fun.
A few short hikes on property.
Report Check-InUli 15.01.17
Schotterplaz. kleiner Parkplatz 25m Stromkabel zum Waschhaus. Saubere Toilettenanlage warme Dusche. 17,35 Bz $ Wifi im Speiseraum
The facility's are very nice. Best shower of our entire trip. Hot, good pressure and private space that's dry to get dressed in. We never visited the Zoo but saw a nice amount of wild life during our 4 nights stay...still waiting on our mail in Belize City. Staff is very nice, and meals are responsible priced. No good food store near by so we ran out of supplies and ate there twice. Food was ok. Free coffee, tea, and drinking water. There are a couple short hiking trails we took our dog on. There is a pond with turtles, fish and a small crocodile named pirate due to him missing an eye. I highly recommend this place for a night or two. Camping in your car is as others said. We hooked up to electricity for no extra charge. We have 50 meters of extention cord and barely made it to the plug, but we did. 8.75 usd per person to camp.
Report Check-InWarm showers, good toilets. For power you need at least 25m cable.
They charge $8.75USD per person.
Just a note, electricity is available (no extra cost) if you've got a long extension cord and park as close to the bathrooms as possible (while still being in the parking lot). Our son had no problems with his tent, but he's got a cot, too. All gravel. A few bugs. Some fun trails full of birds.
Report Check-InVery little shade and lots of no-see-ums and Doctor flies when we stayed in late May. The bathrooms nearby were nice.
Report Check-Inperfect place to stay when you want to visit the zoo, neat site with the best showers since a very loooong time, great paths to walk the dog, nice staff, wifi at restaurant
Report Check-InNice area, it's a pity that campers must stay in the parking lot and are not allowed to enter the campground. Very clean sanitaries with hot showers! WiFi only in the restaurant available. 17.44 USD/night for two.
Report Check-InRV type vehicles must now stay in the car park which is not very picturesque and without much shade. Price is now Bel$ 16. The showers and toilets are very good with hot water.
Report Check-In17.44bzd per person to camp + 18bzd per person for dinner. Facilities good but only tents (no vehicles) allowed on the grass now. We had to put our roof tent up in a new gravel car park.
Report Check-InWe rented a cabana for 151B$ for a dopple inclusive Dinner and Breakfast, camping is no good anymore for tents. The have just made the parkinglot new with gravel, but it is very well possilble 17/person
Report Check-InNice grassy lawn for camping, but beware of big spiders! Clean, hot showers and large sinks for washing dishes. Breakfast and dinner was also available ($6US and $8US, respectively).
Report Check-InVery nice facility, good to stay overnight. Toilets and showers available. WiFi. Quiet. overnight B $ 10 -
From the north, turn left just before the Belize Zoo, left, well signposted.
Report Check-InClosest place to stay by the Belize Zoo. Good place to camp, brand new bathrooms with gigantic showers and covered picnic tables. Lots of people stay here in the cabins to do the night tour of the zoo. We went during the day and saw everything but the spider monkeys. Electricity available only in the office.
Report Check-InEverything you would expect from a nice place to stay : covered picnic tables; clean new bathrooms; powerful hot showers; (Very slow) free WIFI at the Office; some beautiful trails.
just a couple of km's from the Zoo which costs $ 30 BZ entrance fee per person, however the money is worth it. Close to the Zoo is another, beautiful place to stay, the Monkey Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, however, they ask BZ $ 15 / person plus tax.
(Originally $ 10.90 BZ / person)
