Very nice and peaceful place. Only downside is that there are no showers, only a freezing cold outdoor shower. We slept in the van on the parking lot, paid 5000 COP. Very quiet night, and nice, cool temperature for sleeping.

Definitely worth the detour. Nice setup of the pools. On a Friday noon we were alone, on weekends it can be crowded. Road not difficult, just a bit stony.

This is a hidden gem indeed!
Due to a road works we arrived during the dark, so the first impression of the road wasn´t the best, although definitely manageable with our 2wd Mitsubishi L300. But thanks to that, we had a nice feeling of a "remoteness" 😎, which was supported also the next day, when we walked down to termas and been there literally alone (was Thursday) until 3:30pm, when couple of ppl (max 10) arrived to enjoy this paradise! We´ve been in couple of thermas through our trip in SA and I am not afraid to say, this one is the best one so far! You really feel you have it all for yourself and on the other side you have all the services you need, even a well-working Wifi! (not that we would needed, just for a description 😉). The price is still "more than a friendly" = 20,000 COP/24h + 5,000 for parking. Give yourself a treatment and come here to relax! Won´t regret. Guaranteed!😉

We camped up at the parking and spent the entire evening in the thermals. There was a lady called Nelly who looked after the parking and she asked for 5000 pesos for a car and two people. Pretty difficult to find even ground. Woke up to an amazing view. Ask the Nelly to show you where to get water.

They let us spend the night here for free, they just asked if we were planning to eat at the restaurant and since we were they said it was fine. Not a whole lot of flat space to park but we made it work.

Such a lovely spot!! Absolutely gorgeous drive up, looks like Norway but with green parrots and bromeliads. The road is in good condition and well marked. Neither steep or not rocky! There’s a big lot just before the path down to the hot springs, which we camped at for the night. Plenty of room, flat enough. So green!

The hot springs are open 24/7, just down the hill about a 3-5min walk. Friendly tenants. Big pool with some very hot patches! Just so beautiful. We arrived on a Sunday night and there was just one other couple. Empty in the morning. There’s a bunch of new stuff onsite including wooden changing rooms and lockers, as well as a restaurant and cabanas. All natural and tasteful.

One of our favorite and most relaxing stops on the journey south to Ecuador, completely worth the detour!

$15k pp, parking for $5k

Really good dirt road when we went there, without holes or rocks. Paid 15000cop pp entrance fee +3000 for the parking (maybe because it was the week-end). Lockers are available for 2000.

Google maps directions takes you right here, no problem. Road is rocky and uneven but you could drive up in a 2wd with no clearance issues. Nobody was here and only one pool had water in it but was a nice warm swim in the cold rain. Agua tibia much nicer facilities and almost nobody there on a week day. Quiet night until 4.30am when motos and cars started driving by, sometimes dropping people off right next to us. Later, farmer brought cows out right next to us to milk. Everyone friendly. Later in the morning someone came by who asked if we wanted to go into / had already gone into the hot springs, so we paid him 10k each.

Road to the Salinas is not on maps.me, but this (02°19′20.06″N 76°30′07.54″W) is where you take the small road up from the main road. Also has a huge blue sign next to it.
After 4km its a small pull out next to the road where you park your car and walk down the hill to the Salinas.
The road is pretty rough and rocky, would not do it a 2nd time with our MB Sprinter.

Thermal pools are beautiful and as mentioned before.

Very nice thermal pool and sauna. We did not try the mud bath or waterfall as we arrived late in the day. No one around but 2 playful puppies that belong to thermals and 2 friendly local boys at thermals. Stayed overnight at parking spot. We initially missed the turn off from the main road and it was difficult to find. Will update with coordinates of turn off on way out. Road is rough going stable rock base but worth it, we met several motorcycles and two trucks coming down road with NO turnouts to speak of. We did have to back up about 500 meters at one point and fortunately found a small entrance to a cow field where the 2 trucks (local buses) could get by. Beautiful clear sky and star viewing at night. Wonderful natural thermals in the countryside!

Amazing thermales experience in a really nice atmosphere. All still very small and simple. We stayed overnight and used the pools in the morning. But could have also used them in the night. At around 9pm a bus from Popayan arrived with a group of 30 locals who stayed until 1am. A bit of noise when they arrived and left, but the thermales are a couple of 100 metres down the hill. Entrance is still 10.000 COP, parking free. There is only space for 2 small vehicles.

A nice place to stay inside a green gras canyon. Unfortunately the bears show up very rarely so we havent seen.

Small parking place along the road in a great scenery, had a quiet night. The thermal pool was very nice and the "sauna" with aromatic herbs, very nice people

Report Check-In

Really really nice. They're doing a great job here. Start in the hot sulphuric natural mudbath, wash off in the (not freezing) super beautiful waterfall, spend a few minutes cleansing in the (very basic) sauna, then relax into the brand new thermal pools (very warm). They're building some accommodation here so we put up with a bit of noise, but we also spotted a black bear cruising through the cow paddocks above. Amazing! If they just fenced the cows out of the creek this place would be perfect. Super nice owners as well.

Note: we slept in our van for free in the carpark, beautiful night, relatively flat.

Note: it's a rough slow 4kms from the main road, but totally worth it compared to the commercialized ugly thermal parks in the area. Apparently there's another thermal finca 4kms further up the hill but this was perfect for us.
