Description

NO CAMPING HERE.

There are no campsites in Huye/Butare so we thought we would be cheeky and ask to stay overnight in the museum carpark. We arrived 5 minutes before it closed and explained we wanted to visit the museum when it opened in the morning. They allowed us to park overnight, there are no facilities but it is guarded.

Price has now increased to 10,000. We didn’t end up entering but we know from local friends that it is a very good and well curated museum. You get a dedicated guide taking you around as well!

A very nice museum and price is still 6'000 per adult.

Very good museum of the Rwandan traditions and history.
It’s 6,000 RWF each and you get a very informative guide to show you around.
Maybe even a little too much information.

Forget camping here but it is an incredible museum for the very good value price of 6000 francs per person. For this you get a personal guide who explains a lot about each exhibit as you go. It is outstanding.

it is a nice and modern museum! give you an idea about rwandan lifestyle and tribes before cristianity! There is also a guide included in entrance fee.
But 6 Euro (6000 franc)are actually in the end too much for that small museum

Great museum. Well worth the visit and give yourself an hour or two to take it all in!

You can use this museum as a museum and not just as a parking :-) it's very interesting and well done, consider 1 hour to visit it. Entrance is 6.000 local money (6€). I asked twice to receive my tiket.

We tried to repeat the original poster's experience but they are not allowing camping in the parking lot at this time. They were very friendly though and helped us find camping in the parking lot of a nearby hotel.
