Wild camping on the beach. No facilities. Free
At the moment there are deep ditches on both sides of the road. So 2wd cars will need to park on the side of the road. 4wd can cross in the only spot without a ditch. Bit this is over a steep little dirt curb.

The village has confusing roads, check map carefully. Google maps lead us the wrong way.
Eventually you will see a sign at trees giving the direction to playa las docas. You can reach the top spot by car (bumpy road!), by bikes you could even master the sand wall to find a sheltered place amongs the bushes. It was very windy, but beautiful.
Could see a few 4x4 at the beach for camping too. Only saw two neighbors who watched sunset at the spot. Recommended

We stayed there about 10 days ago, on a week night. The land overlooking the beach is completely inaccessible now (even for 4x4 cars) as mentioned by others in previous posts, but you can definitely stay over night at the beach and have an incredible sunset, view on the stars at night and amazing view when you wake up! The road to get there is quite bumpy, accessible for all types of cars but definitely better with a 4x4.
Little tip, don’t do like us and try and go on the beach itself with your car, you’ll stay stuck! 😁
We were lucky enough to have locals help us!
Enjoy your stay there!

Nice place at the beach, where with a little bit of luck you can find a place hidden from the wind, in one of the caves. Amezing view and peaceful during the week. Don't pet the dogs, they will follow you forever

Like previous posts this place is beautiful! Big crashing waves, picturesque cove, stunning sunset, etc.

However, they are charging 3,000 pesos per vehicle now and you also have to pay to use the bathroom each time (500). They say they are charging this to maintain the road, the bathrooms, a first aid shack, and haul out trash. I'm not sure how much trash used to be here but they could definitely do a better job at cleaning up. If staying more than 1 night maybe the 3k is worth it? Still however it's unfortunate that such a beautiful place could have so much trash. You can tell they are trying to have visitors clean and they are building little trash dumps. Maybe come with a few trash bags and haul it out or at least help clean a bit.

Can get very windy and therefore dusty and ocean is treacherous so NOT for swimming at all. That said, we did enjoy our last night on the coast before ending our 1.5 year trip from California to Patagonia :)

Google maps from iOverlander tried to take us a crazy way that dead-ended in a house and gate, so we backtracked and realised that instead of the last left turn you just keep going straight and that dirt road goes all the way down to the beach, where you can camp in the dirt parking areas or tent on the beach. When we got there Sunday it was fairly busy for an overcast spring day, with tenters that had obviously camped there for the weekend, but by 9pm everybody was gone and we had the place to ourselves.
Place is free, but is very run-down - there used to be toilet facilities on both sides of the beach but now they are in serious repair and the toilets themselves are gone, so you have to try and aim for the tube coming up out of the concrete. Trash was mostly confined to the dumpster and two homemade trash pits, but there was a lot of it, and the dogs drag it around looking for food. We ended up staying 3 nights bc we haven’t camped by a beach in many months now - it was very relaxing.
Dirt road down is pretty rutted, but we saw little cars making it down and back up easily, so just keep an eye out where you are going and you should be fine.

Nice spot with good view and we even found a spot where you dont see all the trash. Very quiet friday night, saturday night people camped next to us and talked till dawn. Earplugs helped.

We arrived at night but couldn't find this exact spot. However, we found a flat pull-out close to it off the dirt road. Free, but the area had a good amount of trash. The dirt road was a little rough at times but our low-clearance 4WD was able to handle it. Only a couple cars passed by the next morning, none that night. In the morning, we were able to continue down the dirt road to the beach. Overall, nice and quiet, a bit chilly at night.

beautiful view, magnificent sunrise and full of spots with dire pit. possibility of continue until the beach in downwards. the road is bad especially by time of rain.

Really nice place above an awesome beach
We were here on New year's day and obviously there were plenty of people having campfires, camping, music, ...

Great site for camping, but lots of trash. There is a great spot on the edge of the cliff overlooking a beautiful cove (with a trail to the beach) and plenty of space to set up camp. We had a fire going most of the night but a local came by in the morning and told us we could not set up fires there. Given the amount of trash and left over camping equipment it seems to be a popular spot, but only had two cars go by throughout the night and the one visit in the morning. Also, they seem to be building a fence at the entrance so they may be blocking access in the future but they let us go through without a problem.
