A huge gravel place on the river with two spots + fire ring right next to the river. There is more space for big rigs in the middle of the gravel place. It's close to Dyea road but at the end so no traffic at all at night. A ranger drove by at the evening and it is absolutely okay to camp here although it is the national historical park.
10 miles from Skagway. Narrow winding road and single lane bridges. Not for large RV.

We checked out this site but were concerned with potential flooding from the adjacent Taiya Riv as it was raining heavily and the river was rising fast and running hard. Decided to roll the dice and camped at the newly improved parking area at the Chilkoot trailhead right before the old bridge. A police offer stopped by at around 6 pm and we had a nice friendly chat. The next morning a park ranger stopped by for a chat as well. He wasn’t fussed by our presence but it was clear that despite the lack of signage truck/RV camping wasn’t allowed.
Report Check-InGreat spot on river, secluded with fie pits as noted before, sat on river bank and enjoyed the beautiful view. At end of park road near bridge. Nobody bothered us
Report Check-InOn the east side of the highway there is a second spot on the water, further back in the large gravel area. We cannot see the bridge from our campsite. Beautiful! Fire rings, rushing river sounds.
