We loved this spot. Made it up in our sprinter (not 4x4). Just have to be cautious. It’s about halfway up the road to the Hidden Lake trailhead. Would recommend getting to the trailhead early if doing the hike. (Hike is awesome!)

Everything that has been said about the road is true. The spot is nice but not that special that I would drive this road ever again. You need 4wd,even with this it's hard. We have mid clearance, which was OK. Logs, branches, holes, loose rocks, trees hanging over the street. Only reason why we didn't go back and chose one of the pullouts along the main route is that is whole area looks super alarming with all the broken and damaged cars in the front yard that look like they have been stolen.
Only plus is that because of the bad road nobody will bother you.
2,5mil to Hidden lake trail head, but theroadwas blocked with fallen boulders for the last 0.5mil. We went to the Trailhead and it turned out that the hike is 4,5mil one way and 3200ft elevation gain. As we are just recovering from the flu we only did the first bit but is was really beautiful.

Don't try to get to this spot if you're in a van or don't have 4WD. The drive is impossibility narrow and steep, and by the time we realized it we almost couldn't turn our 2WD promaster around it was incredibly sketchy. As of 7/17/2021, a few people mentioned that there's a fallen log on the road you have to drive under, and only sedans and some SUVs may fit under. There are plenty of other spots along the paved road before and after this scary gravel road's turnoff, though.

Report Check-In

Great spot off the side of the road up to Hidden Lake trailhead. Enough room for a couple cars and tents. The worst part of the road is at the very beginning, manageable potholes.

Nice spot if you can get it, better than camping at the busy Hidden Lake trailhead.
