Safe and nice place directly at the lake. We used the toiletts of the restaurant and the shower of the staff, both new and very clean.
Had a nice dinner at the restaurant.
The manager was very welcoming and helpful, we got many good recommandations from him.

Report Check-In

Nice grassy and level camp spot, safe (surrounded by fence and guard), nice restaurant with delicious food.

Would stay again, although quite expensive (50.000 shilling for two people) for the state of the ablutions (cold showers, worn down). Toilets at the restaurant are clean and well maintained.

Report Check-In

It’s also Big Rig friendly!
Nice restaurants on both sides but the abulutions are very run down!

Report Check-In

Park in the grass next to the yatch club. It’s secure and flat. Great restaurant, hot showers and clean toilets. Close to town and on the lake. 50 000 for 2x pax pn.

Report Check-In

les douches sont vétustes. Il n'y a rien pour faire la vaisselle ou le linge. L'endroit est très bruyant. le prix de 15$ pppn n'est pas justifié.

Report Check-In

Lovely spot near town, flat camping area and suitable for bigger rigs. Stunning views of Lake Victoria and perhaps one of the most beautiful sunrises we've experienced so far.
Great restaurant, bar with drinks etc - free wifi which has good signal.
Toilets are clean, agree with below comments in that shower is basic, we had luke warm water, not hot but certainly not ice cold. Strong pressure.
Grounds are between two restaurants and can be noisy towards late evening but it does get shut down at a reasonable time.

25,000 TZ Shilling pppn.

Would happily stay here again.

Report Check-In

Perfect place to explore Mwanza, also suitable for bigger cars. Toilets are perfect, shower is basic. If you need a tuktuk to drive you around, call Max: +255620326359

Report Check-In

Nice place to stay. Good free wifi, Clean shower and toilets. Quiet, and good restaurant and bar.

25 000 TZS pppn or 20 USD.

Report Check-In

Spent two nights here and it has been a regrettable experience. There is no respect for the rest of travelers. No communication from the manager or other staff about the disturbances or inconveniences that are about to be unleashed on campers. 1st day arrive early and have the camp area to myself. Shortly told to move as there is a large party and the entire camp area is to be used. I’m squeezed into the boat storage. I was told the party to end at 6pm
That day and I can return to the camp area that evening. Well the party stayed at 6pm and loudly lasted until past midnight. 2nd night I am in camp area which is close to the kitchen of the restaurant. The owner a woman proceeds to create a loud ruckus screaming at staff I hat to tell her to quiet down but she tells be to sleep
Elsewhere ! Funny right ? Then at 2am construction starts for the setup for another party. Lots of noise and hammers and sawing. This continues until day break. Now another party this evening. Time for me to get the hell
Out of here. Don’t assume anything at this place about peace and quite at night. Be proactive.

Report Check-In

Great place. Price has been increased though . Now 25.000 per person per night

Report Check-In

Nice grassy lawn just by the lake. Used the toilet by the restaurant and shower by squash Court. Staff very helpful. Nice restaurant.

Report Check-In

there is no many choisie in Mwanza and the yacht club is a good solution for two or three nights, not expensive, 15000Tsh.pps, with nice vieux and very green tea . plugging electicity is possible, and you can feel your tank of water easily. Restaurant is a little expensive but correct. and, i agree, the shower run down... Between the two restaurants, it's sometimes a little noisely, but not After 01h AM. We recommend.

Report Check-In

Still open, good bar. 15k pppn. Nice staff

Report Check-In

Nice camping spot on grass next to the lake... Beautiful view just a pity there is a fence in front of the camp, but this is understandable for security. Great restaurant and bar with very very friendly staff.. Mr Kwabe the caretaker is an absolute star and he helps wherever he can. Walking distance to city centre but it is suuuuper busy so we didn't stay long... Great super markets and shops should you want to stock up on groceries. It was a bit loud at the hotel next door in the evenings until about midnight, but after this is was very quiet. The toilets are beautiful and clean. The shower facilities is a bit run down but there is hot water for a nice warm shower... Well worth paying the THS15000 pppn to camp here.. We had a great stay...

Report Check-In

Lovely place
Good restaurant in and great pub restaurant to the next door
Price 6 euros per person

Report Check-In

Camped here for 3 nights last week as this really is the best place to camp in Mwanza. 15000 Tsh/pppn. We were the only campers there and it was surprisingly calm and pretty quiet even though we were there on a Friday night, too. The restaurant has very good food. Nice views and many birds around. New toilets ok, showers run down but hot.

Such a great location on Lake Victoria; camping is on the yacht club grounds, but we very flat and green grass (15K TSH pppn). We had to get our car serviced; Jackie (MYC caretaker) helped put us in touch with some guys who came out to the yacht club who were substantially cheaper than Toyota (it wasn’t a big service). They found that our front bumpers’ bolt had sheared and helped mend it, too. We stayed three nights as we waited for the ferry to Bukoba. The Asian food at the restaurant (Mo&Pragz) is excellent and we kept getting meals there (15K -25K TSH), friends did get fish & chips which was a bit dry we didn’t have that experience with the Asian food (the best we’ve had on our trip). My partner also had local goat stew with some people we met there, and played squash with them on the courts. We were lucky enough to go out with them on the boat around some of Lake Victoria, too. It’s a vibrant, beautiful place and well worth a visit. Something to note is that it likely will not be quiet over weekends (none of the surrounding property will be quiet).

Perfect spot. Don’t even ask they know why you are here. Still 15000 pppn. Park on the grass few meters from lake Victoria. Very friendly staff. Wifi password did not change.

Internet quite fast yacht club (pass: 123456789)

Absolutely beautiful spot to stay. We stayed for two nights and were the only ones here. The space is amazing with excellent new toilet block with a very nice shower (not warm but very pleasant). Price was up front and cheap (15000 tsh pppn.) and the people friendly and spoke excellent English. They let us wash our clothes in the basins of the bathrooms.
We had checked out the other lodge and it was a lot more expensive (25 USD and wouldn’t bargain down) and far away from town.
Very close to the city so we just walked into the centre and to the main town bay so our car tent didn’t need to be packed up. The restaurant is very good and very reasonably priced (main meals 12000 - 15000 tsh) beers also available (2000 tsh).
Overall would highly recommend. We are very sad to be leaving.

Report Check-In

No hot water in shower and are in poor condition.place is ok for one night .maybe better to go to camp in the other place a bit north (10 km )

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one week on the campsite. We payed 15.000 tsh pppn.

+ great view over Lake Victoria
+ walking distance to city center
+ quiet in the morging and afternoon
+ nice food in the restaurant
+ free swimmingpool at Tilapia hotel (next door)
+ new and clean toilet building
+ secured gate
+ you can park your car on the campground

- avoid the weekend days, with (very) loud music in the area till late time
- offical guest shower looks like a rape house. Very dirty. There is hot water though. If you don't mind a cold shower just use the new and clean staff shower.
- the staff is more busy with making their own food than looking after the guests. You can sit for hours in the restaurant without being noticed. The gardener, cleaner and doorman are always happy to help!
- few places with shade

Report Check-In

Nice camping on the lawns where they launch the boats. New toilet block for restaurant which we could use, but the showers were at the squash courts - dark and dirty and the hot water was not available in all the showers. The restaurant was noisy and busy untill 22h00. They also had a function on the lawn with 30 people - but they were well behaved and quiet and left just after 20h00. Good option for overnight as there are not many camping options available.

Report Check-In

Nice place for camping. 15 000 schilling a night. Restaurant at site.

Report Check-In

Nice place for 1 night. Grassy campsite overlooking the lake. Friendly staff. There is a new building with clean toilets. You can shower at the staffs shower it’s nice and clean but cold.

Report Check-In

Campsite on the lawn next to club. Grassy area with no shade. Nice view of Lake. 2 restaurants and walking distance from town. Ablutions old with luke warm water. Very noisy at night. 15000 pppn too pricey for what you get.

Report Check-In

Nice spot at lake. Walking distance from town. Friendly staff. No facility for cooking or dish washing as described.

Report Check-In

Great lake side location. However during our stay no running water for toilet and shower. Normal price is 15.000tsh pppn, negotiated down to 15.000tsh for the two of us since we had no proper ablutions.

The Yacht club is located slightly outside the center of Mwanza. The campground is a nice green patch of grass next to the lake. The view is nice. It can be windy sometimes.

The ambitions are good. Running water and hot showers. Electricity is available in the buildings.
