Since there is no way to find dispersed camping on Lake Tahoe we found this lovely spot above Carson City

Wonderful spot with amazing view, space for one car with or without tent. Wind protection if the wind comes from the east, because there is the mountain. The bushes are smelling so good! We made it with 4wd and mid clearance but high clearance would be advisable because the middle of the dirt road is overgrown with the bushes.
Some people left their dogs poop there, please don't do that! We buried some of it but be careful where you walk.
The place looks great but you will need a vechicle with 4 wheel drive or a large clearance. The road is very beat up towards the end.
Report Check-InThis is a really cool place in the middle of nowhere with a nice view over Carson City and the valley. A Police officer passed us when we drove up but didn't say anything, he just waved. We had a very quiet night.
Report Check-Inforgot to add details . Hwy 50 over Spooner pass hits 395 . take a left and left again at first light . slightly right and sharp left into voltaire canyon road. just before the top of the hill turn right into a small dirt road at the end about 200ft is a turn arround where we camped.
