Description

Small, family run cochera perfect for those arriving from Peru! The mom Barabara is always there and is helped by her two daughters, Ana and Mercedes. They love meeting foreigners and understand Italian! SUPER FRIENDLY!

Located in El Alto, it is next to a university (so lots of internet and cheap food nearby) and only two blocks from a teleferico station (blue line) making it very easy to access the city center (less than 30 min) without having to drive there! You can come and go anytime between 6am and 10pm.

The base price is 30B for a vehicle. No showers, no laundry onsite (both less than 10 min away, walking)

Ring the bell on the left side of the gray doors, #77 Arzabe Street :) enjoy

Hola, this is Barbara. i check in here to add i now have a kitchen overlanders can use as well!
For bigger rigs i advice you to take the entrance at calle J Arzabe, grey gate with number 77 on it. This gate is 4.60 meters wide and 3.60 meters tall so it will fit big rigs very well. Be welcome!

I arrived at 11:00 p.m. very late at night, I still called them on WhatsApp and they answered.

I was received late at night, the next day I talked to the owners, they are very kind ladies.

There is a bathroom and the place is quiet and safe, it usually only accepts foreign cars.

Basic paved parking lot to stay in. Plenty of bathrooms, water available from a spigot. Paid 100/nt for 2 adults, 4 kids. Best part is easy teleférico access (1 block away) and being on the west side of town easy to bypass driving into the middle of La Paz. Downside is almost nothing nearby so Teleférico everyday to see stuff.

Spent one week here because of administrative delays (do not visit Bolivia with a dog if you don't want to waste a week in paperwork!).

In my opinion it is perfect as a storage or 1-night stay: cheap, clean, very safe, friendly owner, close to cable car station, you can come back until 11pm at least.

For longer stays I'm not sure I would recommend it:
- The owner may get out for a few hours on very short notice. Since there is only one key (!), you may end up blocked inside, or outside.
- from time to time they also host large events (1000+ persons at the end of this week) so everybody has to get out to make room. check the schedule before leaving your car for a long time.
- The dog mentioned below is still there. it is locked up most of the time, but has to get out at least twice a day (1hr each) to eat, drink, etc. When so, the owner asks that you be either locked in your van, or out of the premise. Coordinating your bathroom outings on Whatsapp can grow tiresome.
- No onsite shower. She can point you to a 15Bs option, 10min walking from here.

Still, nice place and nice person :-)

Precio 30 bolivianos/persona y Camper.

NOT suitable for BIG rigs!!! Drive in street is too narrow.

We wanted to stay here while visiting la paz, but this didn't work. We arrived at 16:00 and nobody was there, so I called the number someone posted here. The lady answering the phone was very nice and said that they would be back around 18:00, so we went back to the supermarket and returned at 18:10. When ringing the bell, an older lady asked "quién es" so I told her that we called earlier and would like to stay. However, she didn't open the door and even when some locals spoke to her, she wouldn't let us in. There was also a dog barking very loudly and the said something about it. Very puzzling experience. We moved to the 40bol airport parking instead and it's probably even more quiet. A shame though, because we wanted to do laundry at her place...

Now asking 30 BOB/pp twelve years above. Small kids did not pay. They asked 10 BOB for every single use of the warm suicide shower, kids included. 5 people ment 50 BOB just for showers, one each. Sometimes asking money for wifi (fast and reliable) and water refill, but not this time. So we recommend to clarify at the begining what is included in the price and what is not. The dog was locked somewhere inside once there were guests. No issues with that.

Report Check-In

we arrived at 10pm and they were very kind and helped us to fix a problem we had with our equipment. The place is clean, open and the bathroom is ok. We stayed only one night because we are still on the road.

Wonderful place to stay for exploring La Paz! Extremely nice women run the place. 40 per night for two of us + 10/night for wifi. We also paid 5 bobs to fill up water and or friends paid 10 bobs per night for electric. Very level, secure and quiet (except for a party sat night with music until about midnight). Not sure what the aggressive dog comments are. We saw one dog who never barked and was inside with them all the time. Wifi was great, toilets were clean. The showers weren't working when we were there and they were repairing men's toilets. The women's had four toilets so was plenty for the four is us (2 in our truck camper and 2 friends in a van). Very close to telerferico which is simple, clean and easy to use for exploring the city. Highly recommend this place.

Report Check-In

As the comment below us. We were with the four of us. Nice place with clean toilets and fast wifi. No problems with the dog. 40 per night excl electricity and wifi (wifi 10, electricity 10 pn). Nice market on sunday!

Report Check-In

Beautiful place, as described. But run away. The place has become dangerous with an aggressive young dog that the poor women are struggling to control. He's locked in the shower. Impossible to take a shower without first asking permission to take the dog out. This dog is going to bite someone. Family with child, do not risk an accident.

Report Check-In

Would stay here again just because it’s the only decent spot in town. The family is very friendly and WiFi is mostly good.

However they have a hyper aggressive dog that sits mostly by the entrance and shower room. So you sort of have to get someone to help you distract the dog while you tip toe around the entrance of the parking lot.

20BOB per person and 10BOB for shower.

Close to teleférico station.

Bathrooms are so-so, wish they cleaned them more often. Showers are hot.

Entrance is on Jose Azarbe street.
Hight restricted, I squeezed through 3.5m high.
Wide entrance. Flat, clean, large, secure parking
60bob for big rig, one person, electric hook up. Looks clean, dog lives in showers!
Easy walk to decent supermarket and cable car.
Very nice people run the place
Good first stop entering La Paz from the north.

Report Check-In

Excellent spot to stay at in La Paz. The ladies running the place are super friendly! The parking is listed on google maps so I suggest finding the listing on their so you don’t go to the wrong place. They now have good wifi and a hot shower (electric shower head) it’s an easy walk to the blue line and it costs 5 bobs to get to the center. Plus you get to enjoy the amazing views from the blue line and red line. Huge parking area. They charged me 20 bob a night plus 10 bob for a shower so 30 bob per night for one person, not sure how much it would be for two people

Report Check-In

Very nice hosts, had a more than 3 hours chat with them. Huge parking lot for us alone. Toilets are good, but could be cleaned more often. Right next to teleferico with easy access to town for 5 Bs pp.

Very Very Nice women... water for tank. 12 bols par kilo washing. 60 bols for 2 adults and 2 children (10 and 12 years old) with big motorhome.

We stayed here a week! What a wonderful family. They give you good advice, tea and cookies :-).
We could even sleep inside because it rained a lot at night. Same price!
We payed 40 BOL for the car and 2 persons / night. For a shower we payed each 10 BOL.
Easy acces to La Paz by telefrico. Really nice views, every moment of the day :-).

Say hi from Ruth and Reindert from Belgica. Enjoy!
P.s. The dog Charlie is awesome!

Report Check-In

Big rig friendly and in a secure environment however wanted 30bs PER person. Tried to bargain and she went down to 20BS per night per person however for our family of 5 (although small kids free) it's cheaper to stay at the airport for 30bs where there is Wi-Fi at least. Did not stay here. Unfortunate as previous comment said it was 10bs per car. Would have paid 20bs but sadly she wanted 60bs even though no one else was there.

Report Check-In

Sorry, this advertising is missleading. Normal Garage-entrance, ca 2,20 high, definetely not for big rigs. Why do people post places like this? It is a pretty poor and dangerous area with narrow streets. Avoid!

Report Check-In

Sorry, this advertising is misleading. Only for small Cars in a dangerous surrounding. Better avoid!

Lovely place to explore La Paz! We stayed 3 days to check the car (lots of mechanics nearby), see the city, enjoy a sauna at 2 blocks away, our kids loved the concrete pavement to play, we used washing machine (15bs) and the ladies are soooo friendly! Ver good experience!
