Balneario Bambu | Established Campground

We stopped shortly in front of Balneario Bambu. A friendly lady approached us and offered us to stay the night for 40.000 COP (2 persons in campervan).
We hesitated, and she dropped the price to 20.000 COP. Did not stay, because we still had to drive a larger distance the next day and wanted to drive a few more kilometers while there was daylight.

Payed 7000.- per person to stay overnight. Sheltered tables to use. The „shower“ is in one of the toilets, it’s just a hose coming out of the wall - we didn’t use it. Not the most quiet place but ok to rest after a day of driving.

This place is ok for one night.
Nice refreshing river.
Very few installations. Toilets quite dirty no paper, no light, no shower. (or we didn't find it!)
It was closed when we arrived but a very nice neighbour called the owner and we were allowed to enter and park.

Very loud noise from the road all night.
First they asked us for 15000, but we explained that with this few services, we think that 10000 for 2 people and the van would be more fair...the owner directly said ok... But definitely I think it's a right price for what you get there.

Nice place to stop for the night. Can swim in the river and there is a water tap for washing after, even can wash your hair under it. Good place for food aswell. We took the cerdo and Chagas plate, it comes with banana, rice and yuca! Very well made! Even breakfast is good! For sleeping we paid 10 000 for two people and car. Dinner is around 15 000 - 20 000 per menu with soup and lemonade. Breakfast is around 7 000 - 10 000.

Nice spot for a night, friendly lady, good price. There is no shower, we used the garden hose to shower quickly when it was dark:)

Truly sweet family running a balneario/ restaurant. Camped ($5,000 pp)near the river, bathed in the river, and had gigantic dinner in the restaurant ($10,000). Truck noise was loud pretty much all night, as it's a very important truck route. Could be difficult for tent campers. Best Patacones ever en serio.

Really nice place to stop for a night. We paid 5000 per person. Dinner at their restaurant was delicious and was 6000 pesos per plate. Especially our dog enjoyed playing around along the river. The family is so so friendly. They offered us torches so we can use the clean toilets at night.

as reported below. very nice couple, plenty of room, lots of road noise but a safe place to break up the drive. we were not paying close attention to the map driving south and saw Bambu tienda. we asked the lady out front for the camping and she led us around back. there were a bunch of guys sitting around, a dirty toilet, no water and they said we could pitch on the sloped yard for 30000. then we checked the map and saw it was actually across the bridge! at the actual campsite, with blue and white structures, 5000pppn to camp. quoted us 40000 for a room for 4. it was bucketing rain so we pitched a tent in the restaurant area. such a nice couple.

Lovely people, they made us dinner and breakfast for a great price, and she makes huge portions as well! Road noise from the big trucks going by during the night, clean toilets, no showers. It came to 45COP for huge dinners, breakfasts with coffee and camping for 2. Great value!

We stayed here after a long drive from Cienaga and just wanted to pass out. The lady was very friendly and charged us 15k, which we could have probably haggled, but didn't. Showers are bucket showers but the river was nice to get in. Lots of noise from the road though so we didn't really get a good night sleep.

Balneario Bambu, right off highway 45a. Noisy from truck traffic all night. Elactricity and water available. Toilets are clean, no seats and showers or river. Felt secure, gate closed at night

All previous correct, truly very friendly people. Made dinner, socialise a bit and we slept in the new rooms with en suite bathrooms. Paid for 7 pax 60k. Cheap and real pleasure to break the drive to or from the coast.

Oh my, what an amazing friendly couple. Made us dinner when we arrived late. Then gave us beer. Had to almost fight to pay for everything.

Dogs, cats, ducks, sheeps, vultures...cheap place to stay. Dinner and breakfast was cheap and the owners are really very friendly!

Spot on! Very friendly owner. Made us a huge breakfast and did not even ask for payment for using our tent. We left a tip for them being so nice.

Lots of camp space for 5000 each or there are private rooms available in a new building. We paid 20000 for a room with two beds. Super friendly lady who has already taken our dinner and breakfast requests. We parked out motos behind the building out of site.
