Self serve campground with electrical hook ups for $10 a night without electricity ( 15 with )Potable water as well. Only opened July and August.
It is open YEAR ROUND. The pool is actually only open July and August, so someone may have been confused…but this is a great place to stay.
Has a dump station. Sites are flat and quiet even though the highway is fairly close.
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
Large open field just stopped to use restrooms
Potable water
Hookup sites and no hook up sites with picnic tables
Very clean washroom with flush toilet
Camping at 10$ a night with no service, 20$ with electricity and 30 with full service. can hear the highway a bit, but not a big issue. Do you hear the train at night.
Report Check-InNice camping site in a vast grassy field. Self serve and you deposit money in a locked box: 10$ or 15$ if you use electricity. Toilets are clean, there is potable water from a hose and 4 outlet electricity at every site, pic nic tables, garbage/recycling disposal. It is located about 500m from the highway, 500m from the railroad track and 500m from the salt factory. We slept in a tent and we didn't hear any noise from the factory, the highway was far enough, not too noisy, trains were noisy but only 2 did pass while we were sleeping. Chaplin is a very quiet village, it had a feel of a ghost town. Highly recommended for a one night stay.
Report Check-InDescription is good but electricity was not good for the A/C. Toilet not usable, very dirty, the worst I saw in my life. Good for overnight.
Report Check-InChaplin Municipal Campground. Open. Very good place to stop for the night. Quiet but close to highway. Dump station and potable water. 10 dollars or fifteen if you want power. Great!
Report Check-InThis place is definitely closed as far as an active campground. However, our C-class and an A-class stayed overnight. Hydro was available at every site (approx 10 sites). Potable water is nothing more than a garden hose hung a post. We didn’t have the need to try it.
Rates are posted on the sign as you enter: $15 with hydro, $10 without.
The salt mine seems to run 24/7 so expect heavy machinery working in the background as well as several trains tuning thru the night.
If you need a place to crash off the hwy, this will work for you.
M E R C I Chaplin ! Incroyable. Nos enfants ont eu un plaisir fou !!! Place pour jouer au frisbee amplement !!
Report Check-InHello
Nice field of grass.
Perfect if your children need to run after a long roadtrip.
But it's a little noisy with the highway, the train with his big horn and the plant...! so we don't stay to sleep.
Water, restroom (old) and rudimentary dump station.
OK for one night if you can support the noise....
The price is 10 or 15 (electricity).
As described. Nice open space, with some shade. Water, garbage on site. Electricity if needed. Bathrooms were clean. Good spot for an overnight stay.
Report Check-InNice open space for one night. Portable water and bathrooms. The highway is pretty quiet, but you will know when a train goes by. $10 unserviced $15 serviced.
Report Check-InAs described. Water on site. Flat area. Looks like a pool open in the summer. Near the train tracks. Toilets (rundown but not overly dirty) Leave your $ in the box on site.
Report Check-InNeed cash(no change around) for paying fees still 10$ without electricity and 15$ with .restrooms could be more clean!!!
Between train and highway but it’s ok
