Description

Great opportunities for lots of wild camping along this road. We stayed pretty far up, above a creek. Private and quiet.

Latest Check-Ins

Road is closed for the winter. No indication of when it will reopen, sometime in spring presumably

Report Check-In

The gate at the end of the road is still closed. Could not enter.

Report Check-In

NFS road sign says you can stay for 14 days. Our 2 wheel drive Sprinter made it just fine. The first 200 yards of the road are the roughest after that it is just slow going. We went in 3 miles and found a great spot next to the creek. Hiked to Freel Peak great views of Tahoe and far far beyond

Report Check-In

We took the first left up a hellacious road in our FJ Cruiser to a great spot. A little road noise and no ATT data.

Report Check-In

Great little forest road.
Gate at the bottom will be locked in winter.
We seem to have caught it before it was locked.
A few flat spots on the way up. Very quiet.
Nice wild spot to stay.

Report Check-In

I found a level spot just before a cattle guard about 2-3 miles up. In fact, I’d say it’s the only level spot not literally on the road. Going passed the cattle guard the road is overgrown, so the effort is not rewarded. I found a nice spot, BUT THERE IS ONLY ONE! Also, the road near the bottom is steep and loose. Pass this forest road by.

Report Check-In

We pulled on this road (kind of hidden) and went maybe 1 mile in. We didn’t see any spots and the road was kinda crummy for that first section (uneven, rocks) so we turned around. We did walk up the road a bit to see if we could see any clearings and didn’t find any. You must have to drive pretty far up before you get to any sites. I don’t see how this is big rig friendly though as it’s currently marked. The road is not friendly in general, at least not the first portion we drove on with the ford transit 350

Report Check-In

Road still snowed in as of April 29, 2019
