Something not right?

Description

Not a bad spot right on the river and far enough away from the road to avoid most of the noise. A little dirty but it's free. Fire pits appear to be the only amenity, although it looked like there were bathrooms on the other side of the river.

Really nice free campground are by the river. Though you can hear the traffic on the main road is quiet enough.

Better than in Ushuaia, and surrounded by beautiful mountains. It was just a bit too close to the road for us but no noise nor bother coming from it, you're just going to be visible.

Really nice campspot by the river with some grass. We were there during a weekend and at night it was really calm (during the day some locals came chilling by the river). At the moment it’s not allowed to do a fire. We saw some locals fishing (check if you need a permit or not). It’s accessible for all kind of vehicle. No toilet but some trees ;)
No phone signal

Nice spot down the road and just next to a river. Plenty of place with some shelter if it’s too windy.
Few horses around with birds.

Spent 4 night camping here !! The place is really beautiful by the river and very quiet at night. Step drive down but easily possible without 4x4. It was quite clean but around the woods and bushes people leave all their toilet paper around. Keep it clean :) !

beautiful camping across from the hotel we stayed at cause we are sick. horses all over the grounds. fire pits everywhere. not that dirty as some say but definitely people popping in the bushes and near the river. would be cautious drinking water near here. absolutely beautiful spot and very quiet on a Wednesday in summer. looks like camping on both sides and maybe a toilet across the river but who knows

Very big free campsite on the river, coming from Ushuaia you have to take a track on your left. the track is a bit bumpy but I think any car can reach at least the first area of the camping. No amenities except for firepits.

Seems to be known to camping here, like a community camping

Report Check-In

Good campsite but could be difficult to reach and leave with 2wd when its raining.
We were close to be stuck so pay attention !
River with good stream.

Keep clean please !

We stayed two days at this side, one day on both sides. The buildings across the river aren’t toilets :( the place gets really busy on Saturday and sundays

Level spots when you first come down the hill. Not much traffic noise. Used creek water to clean our gear after hiking Laguna Esmeralda. No cell reception.

Arrived on a warm sunny Monday evening and there must have been over a thousand people, complete chaos! I pushed my bike all the way along the river and everywhere was occupied by people all competing to play their car music the loudest. Add in all the children screaming , dogs barking and the quad bike engines and it was complete hell. I found the quietest spot I could but but the partying continued until about 5am and roughly every hour someone used a chainsaw to cut firewood only a few metres from my tent.

Probably of the nicer option to camp close to Ushuaia. (8 km from the Ushuaia sign). Tucked in the river valley and somewhat protected from
the wind. Fire pits for asados available.

Super spot both sites of the river near Ushuaia. Plenty of sites with firerings for overnight. Free.

Great location, was clean and several other campers around but well spread out.

NOTE - there are no toilets here the two buildings referred to by other posters are Natural Gas valve rooms.

Great spot at 10km from Usuahia with a small river passing by. Unfortunately there is some trash around, so please dump yours in a trash bin.

We spent two very quiet nights here and really enjoyed this free camp spot close to Ushuaïa city ! Plenty of fire places on both sides of the river. Many horses around ! Recommended

It’s called RIO OLIVIA. Close to road, but nice spot indeed, also for lunch (BBQ pits). You can camp on both sides of the river, good, free alternative to the village of Ushuaia.

Beautiful camping by the river with snowcovered mountain peaks all around. Was very clean. Lots of flat spots to put a tent.

Very beautiful BUT very dirty... it's so sad! After staying 2 nights in Ushuaia we prefered much more this quiet spot! The sites are a little bumpy, but still possible to level.

We spent here two nights. Perfect: free and just outside town. One night we parked our car at one of the lower places (2nd entrance coming from town), the other one closer to the road (1st entrance). We didn't hear the road, because of the sound of the river.

Very nice campspot in a beautiful surrounding. Some firewood around to enjoy a nice evening around the bonfire. Lots of spots to choose from so you can find one without garbage.

Report Check-In

Very pleasant sites on the river but we sheltered from the wind right up against the mountain on the western side. We've started picking up a bit of other people's litter at these free campsites but cant do much about the toilet paper issue :-(

Report Check-In

Nice place to sleep. Some noisy neighbours with no musical taste but the campsite itself is perfect

Report Check-In

Nice spot right beside the river. Family and friendly. Don't leave any trash ;)
