Latest Check-Ins

We just stop to eat a toast, campsite is now 295 pppn for adults and 145 for kids, we did not stay, prices are crazy and not enough services for the price. Food was ok.

Report Check-In

Rather small campsites on River. Expensive @ R295 pppn. Wi-fi @ N$30 for 150mb. Bar available and dinner meals needs to be pre-booked before 12.

Report Check-In

We had to pay 270,-pp, which was way to much. The terrace was only for dinner, covered furniture the rest of the day. You have to book dinner before 12 am, as we arrived at 3pm no chance. The pool is in the back and was dirty with some workers including their pickup camping next to it. The shared ablution block was not very nice, without warm water, used also by workers which stay there. The staff was not very motivated. There are much nicer camps around.

Report Check-In

A nice green Oasis next to the river. The lodge is not open but the campsite is maintained. The described activities ( rafting , Himba village, Sunset Tours) were not available. The bar was open and if you want to have dinner, you have to book in advance. Birders who come for the cinderella waxbill, will be disppointed. They are not breeding at the lodge anymore. You can receive a map, where they are supposed to be. Unfortunately we did not find them, but it was a nice walk.

Report Check-In

Luxurious camp directly at the Kunene river. Big sites with good privacy, partly with grassy lawn. Each site with electricity, big braai, light and water. Cold Pool, very good restrooms with hot, clean water. Very quiet, expensive at 270 NAD pp. Very weak Edge MTC-Signal.

Report Check-In

Smart and tidy little camp right on the river. Good sized plots and decent facilities. Worth a stop for a drink on their platform overlooking the river. A few monkeys about. Lots of activities including fishing. Friendly helpful staff too.

Report Check-In

As described before, a nice campsite with a not-so-nice rate of NAD245ppn. Ablutions can do with an update.

Report Check-In

It was nice. The new owner was there. Bought the campsite because he is a miner and they are starting a mining project in the neighbourhood. The site was okay but there were no monkeys anymore and hardly any birds. Also lots of the flowers were gone and replaced by bananatrees. We were there too in 2019. Then it was more lush. We also visited the monument of Swartbooisdrift. It is nearby.

Report Check-In

Ice cold athmosphere. Did not like it here. Campsite Nr3 was only OK. The chairs on the beautiful terrace were covered - to not use it. Have been better and friendlier places on our trip!

Report Check-In

Camping is now 250 pppn.
Lovely lush green. Was quite busy at the campsite.

Report Check-In

Nice shaded campsites on the riverbank with braaistand and sink with tap! Stands 1 and 2 very small, but 3 onwards can accommodate relatively big rigs. Clean ablutions with ample showers and toilets…even mirrors in male showers :-) Nice pool, nice bar area. River level was too low to offer sunset cruise.

Report Check-In

Stayed here 1 night. New owners. Had a nice hot shower in the evening but cold in the morning.
Nice shaded and grass camp sites.
will see you again.

Report Check-In

New owners. They are shooting the local monkey troop. These monkeys were not a problem. We have been to Kunene river Lodge many times. Due to all the shooting much less bird live. We shall not be back soon

Report Check-In

Very green campsite with nice (clean) swimming pool. There is power at sites. Ablutions are okay but can use an update. The terrace at the restaurant is very nice, food was a bit disappointing though. They also offer boat trips if the water level is high enough. Friendly staff and new managers.
Camping is 225$N p.p.p.n. and 2 course dinner is 180$N p.p.

Report Check-In

Now $225pppn!! Crazy, nobody else here!
Friends were quoted 150 a few weeks ago so I think they are employing a model of quoting as much as they think your worth. Avoid.

Report Check-In

Very nice grassy campsite, friendly and helpful owners, lovely swimming pool. Monkeys are a nuisance in morning hours and late afternoon. Otherwise they are gone. Campsites have river water points but filtered water is available in restaurant. We paid 205 NAD pppn.

Report Check-In

Spotlessly clean, best shower in northern Namibia (hot, good pressure) Great hosts good wi-fi in bar area.

Report Check-In

Still $205 p/p and the camp is nice and green. The WiFi is now $30 per user and they block you from using personal hotspot. Also the worst part is that you have to be right outside reception area and the wifi is very slow.

Report Check-In

Very nice lodge and campsites directly at the river. Paid 205NAD pppn. Very lush with gras, flowers, big trees and lots of shade. Finally something not so dusty.

Report Check-In

Nice place at the River. Friendly staff. Now 205 NAD ppn plus WiFi 75 NAD. WiFi very slow. Facilities clean

Report Check-In

Paradise!!! Everything one needs on an overland trip.

Report Check-In

Very Nice campsite, lots off shade, River vieuw, Nice pool and very good ablutions.

Report Check-In

Lovely campsite, as previously described.
Shame that, as with most of Namibia (and Africa), prices are going up and up at an extreme rate! It's getting to the point of just being ridiculous and I'm sure more campers are going to avoid the continent in favour of more reasonably priced Asia or South America. Very sad.
Price now N$205pppn.

Report Check-In

Not as beautiful as Omarungo Lodge at Epupa but still a very nice Camp at the River, lots of Monkeys, clean Ablutions, Pool, Electricity + Braai Pitch + Light available at each Parcel. Campground Number 6 has its own little swimming Platform. Free Wifi near Restaurant (slow but worked). Camping 175 NAD pppn. We had Dinner on the beautiful Restaurant Platform that is built into the River, they even light a private Campfire there for you. Very tasty 2 Course Meal for 220 NAD pp. Very friendly Staff. The Road to Epupa directly along the Kunene River has been shaped recently and now can be done with a normal Car within 2 Hours.

Report Check-In

Gorgeous location. Very quiet. Most sites are right on the river! Beautiful outdoor seating area with wifi. (Speed of wifi varies). The owners, Hillary and Peter Morgan, are very nice and knowledgeable. Cost is N$160 per adult to camp. Meals are served on the deck by the river. We had dinner one night and it was very good. Canoes for rent N$220 per canoe. Sundowner boat outing N$365 pp.

Report Check-In

Nice place at the river with campsites and bungalows. Swimmingpool was clean when we were here. Toilets and showers also vedy clean. Some (few) campsites are also suitable for big rigs (Campsite #3)

Report Check-In

Relaxed campsite right at the Kunene river, pitches with braai place, water and electricity, there is a bar and restaurant, Terrasse out on the river, many beautiful birds as well as lizards and monkeys around (beware the latter will steal your food), fishing rids for hire and activities including rafting possible
