No gate to campsite, but you will need 4×4 and possibly chairs to get into and out of the sites themselves with the snow.

Nice place, beautiful lake for swimming and good trails. 22 places, most of them are big enough for big rv (30 feet) and easily to find. Some places with week cell service.

Went back the next day and there were multiple free sites. $15 dollars per night, clean pit toilets. Very nice lake to swim in, sandy beach. Very mushy to walk into the water but you can jump off the dock. 21 sites here.

Very nice place, sadly it was full. Even the day use area was full, lots of cars parked on the side of the road which made it hard for us (class c camper) to drive around. The road was pretty good, steep asphalt drive up the mountain. Last bit is gravelroad, there were some potholes but it wasn't too bad.

I tried it and failed - 18h and all sites are full.

The street up there is for the last 2km in a real bad condition.

Nice & Quiet. I’ll happily spend the $15 a night for a proper site instead of the noisy husky in town. I E-transferred the email posted on the picnic bench at each site. Very easy & worth the drive up the hill if you’re staying in Golden.

Nice campground not too far from the hwy. Pit toilets, nice beach by the day use area and cell signal. Also appreciated the e-transfer option for the $15 fee.
