A very nice free BC campground that is user-maintained. The view of the lake is superb, area is very quiet ! Toilets were clean.
The road isn't paved, but not a big deal, any vehicle can access !

Nice place, about 5 miles drive off the highway. Free! A couple other campers here but many open sites on this August weekend.

We drove to the end of the area. Lucky and there was still a place on the water side. Such a beautiful place. And that for free

wir sind bis zum Ende der Area gefahren.
hatten Glück und es war noch ein Platz zur Wasserseite frei.
so ein schöner Platz.
und das kostenlos.

A wonderfull campsite. About 8 sites. We were alone there and used, I think the main campsite directly at the water. Unfortunately we had to spent up to two hours to clean the place. Someone left three trash bags there inclusive food. We had to remove it so that no bears or other animals came overnight. We left this place today cleaner as when we came. Enjoy your stay and please take your trash with you.

Stayed for 1 night, beautiful swim spot and nice flat grassed sites, picnic tables and fire pits. one of the better spots in the area. got absolutely eaten alive by mozzies.

Excellent free campground with some spots right on the waters edge. Beautiful weather today and no mosquitoes. An perfect example of beautiful British Columbia!

From hwy 97, turn onto Morgan Rd and follow the washboard gravel road for about 3 miles, passing multiple private homes until signs point left towards bible camp and chubb lake. This access is MUCH easier to drive than through Meadow Creek Road and a goat trail over to Quesnel Hixon Rd. User-maintained campground, pack in pack out. Tiny outhouses. Our spot was clean. Very peaceful. We were alone there.

Came here to see otters and beavers. Got up early, coffee made, chairs out, binocs ready. My husband sees a beaver … nope, it’s a loon.
Beautiful quiet lake w pitt toilets and picnic tables. Nice!

Today just me, my own beautiful park. 30'C, great swim. Snorkled and saw lots of some kind of fish (5-8"), TBD. Pit Toilets in good shape. nice green sites with little to lots of cover between, mine very green with own little swim spot. Few flies, likely time of year, but still better than yesterday's campsite. Happy :)

Very nice free campground! We got a spot right next to the lake and it is very nice to swim. A little beach acces. Toilet was clean, big spots, there were some people here but it was still pretty quiet.
Sadly our firepit was used as a rubbishbin. We cleaned our spot up and took the garbage with us to throw out so the next person can enjoy it.
There is a huge rope swing on the left side of the lake. You can boat to it or there is a trail to walk to it. We also saw beavers/otters crossing the water twice and catching fish. Lots of fish in the water.

Several sites along the lake and a few across the road. Very popular with families. Fills up in the summer with campers from Prince George. Worth staying if you can find a site. Bugs less here than other sites we've stayed at this week.

Report Check-In

Small, somewhat overgrown campground, people were leaving their garbage in the fire pits unfortunately. Otherwise it was quite beautiful and the lake had lots of fish, loons, eagles and other birds. We stayed an extra day and at one point we were the only people there.

Bel endroit. Avec spot pour le feu, et un petit toilette. On y a passé une nuit en tente de toit. On entend bcp les coyotes ou loups ?!

Report Check-In

Party, enduros, atvs, not for big rigs, many mosquitos

Report Check-In

Picturesque and spacious this time of year! Long but well maintained dirt road just follow the bible camp signs ( actually). Faint hum of a generator from a neighbour but hopefully that subsides…

Report Check-In

Very good camping spot by the lake. Perfect for canoe/kayak! Firepit, table and toilet. Free!

Came in through Morgan rd, nice smooth gravel road.
I’ve counted 8 sites. The three waterfront were taken.
Mosquitoes were small and found a way into the van.
Nice and quiet lake. Almost no traffic went by.

Nice peaceful free spot reasonably close to the route to Alaska with relatively clean pit toilets. lovely lake. Unfortunately the mosquitoes like it too. But that's good practice for Alaska!

Pretty wooded camp. Heaps of mosquitoes!!! I used A TCell device I got from Walmart a D that worked magic as long as it was on.

Beautiful quiet little lake. We stopped for lunch there.

7 campsites on Chubb Lake. Each one is large and could fit more than one vehicle. There are a few more along the road. Lots of moose tracks and droppings. Very quiet. We were the only ones there.

Report Check-In

Turn off highway about 9km south of Hixton and follow the Chubb Lake Bible Camp signs. Access for bigrigs is OK.
Tables and fire rings

Report Check-In

This is Chubb Lake Recreation Area. Google maps will take you down a narrow two track road with deep standing water in spots. Doable, but a local told us there is a direct route on a main gravel road, Quesnel-Hixson Road from 97. Follow that instead.

Report Check-In

Nice lake, primitive campground, quiet and as expected a lot of mosquitoes...

Report Check-In
