Locals probably know that overlanders come here now. Over 10 children visited us, asking for food. Gave them a coconut which they divided and ate immediately. Was somewhat awkward as they lingered for 2 hours and watched us eat dinner…not something new in Africa but you can say this spot is not isolated for sure.

MTN LTE 3 bars. Access only 4x4 especially in rainy season

Nice spot, turn off just after the abandoned house. Had two nice kids visit us, went for a swim with them, they assured us there weren’t any crocodiles! They even brought us back some mangoes later in the afternoon, apparently there’s a few trees around close to the dam

THIS PLACE IS NOT BIG RIG FRIENDLY! We cut a lot of trees and moved a lot of stones. But when you have reached that place, then it's indeed very nice and quiet.

Gps location of turn to this place -26.06766, 31.207966

We didn't find this place so we slept somewhere around. In the morning we found this turn with many nice places to camp.

Ok spot, no issues but several people walked down the grassy road to get to the lake. There's a small marijuana plot nearby. We woke up to a young guy watering and tending the plot. Just an FYI - no issues.

Really nice and quiet place, no croçs but many fish jumping around

Really beautiful and peaceful place! Small beach on the shores of the lake. Nice views. Don’t swim, there are crocs (heard and seen after 6pm). Lots of dry wood laying around for a barbecue. Just follow maps.me. Last 200m is a grassy track and the camp spot actually lays behind a small abandoned house. 4x4 preferred but not impossible with 2WD with enough clearance. Beautiful spot!
