Description

Quiet parking lot in National Forest. Some ATVs are on the road until late in the evening, otherwise quiet. Great view, nice meadows and forests. Some hiking trails around. Good for a walk with our dog.
Good AT&T coverage. GREAT Verizon coverage! Lots of pull offs for camping before the parking lot. Some side roads to camping our washed out, but main road in is fine.

Latest Check-Ins

The spots here were all full when we arrived, but if you keep driving on Shrine Pass Road, there are some cool spots along the meadow just past the trailhead. We ended up staying a few nights, super quiet and beautiful. Not very good cell service with Verizon.

Report Check-In

seasonal road open during the summer months. off the exit with the Vail pass rest area. steep road up, but doable with my f250 and truck camper in 2wd. a few spots along the road up the hill, maybe 5-8 sites after the top of the hill/parking lot. little to no TMobile with a booster. starlink works great.

Checking in to save for later. Will update once we stay!

Report Check-In

Definitely crowded but good spots. Established fire rings

Report Check-In

We went a bit past the toilets and found a spot with three fire pits. Was very quiet and beautiful

Report Check-In

Tried to stay here but the snow / slush / ice was pretty bad on the way in. We then figured we’d stay in the rest area right at the same exit but it has one hour parking signs and is closed for the season. Just check the weather before you plan on this place! We’re moving elsewhere now.

We loved staying here! There is actually a lot of camping before you get to the trail head. The road up is dirt and a little washboard, but we had NO problem at all in our 25-foot Winnebago Class C Motorhome. This is such a convenient location, 20 minutes to Vail, Frisco or Silverthorne. We had great Verizon wireless. We work from the road and had no connectivity issues. The road is busy during the day with ATVs and vehicles driving up to the trail head, but its a small price to pay for gorgeous, FREE views! Highly recommend this spot.

Beautiful spot large parking lot at the trailhead. Pit toilets. No water. Dirt road was easy to get up. Quiet u was the only one. Hikers started showing up around 8am

Report Check-In

Shrine Pass Road closed as of June 12. many if the forest service roads open around June 21/22 in the area, so I would suspect it may be open then. we continued down the road to the right and parked in a gravel lot near the lake instead.
