Nice spots just on the lower side of the Waterton Reservoir dam, across from the spillway. Two sites with fire rings separated by a mound of gravel. The area is used by locals for fishing - some visitors during the day. (There is a provincial recreation area on the other side of the dam with a (paid) campground).

stayed one night, very muddy. left early in the morning while the ground was still frozen and made it out just fine. very bumpy and rocky area at the bottom so hi clearance is required.
Report Check-InBest area I could find while hiking Waterton National Park. Water is cold but so relaxing. No shade so could be hot. Most vehicles should be able to get here. No US Verizon signal but great for Starlink!
Report Check-InStill an amazing spot! Loved the little river. Dirt road entrance going
down to the river is just steps north of the dam crossing. Will remember this place!
quiet, lots of bitting gnats, beautiful but deadly water. pretty views down river. i do have 1 bar of LTE.
Report Check-InWe spent the night at the end of the track (surrounded by water). Locals came by to fish or play, but it was quiet after dark. We were well protected from the wind. Not sure if this area requires a permit to camp on public land, https://www.alberta.ca/camping-on-public-land.aspx, the Telus signal is too weak.
Visited Waterton Natl Park and came back for another night.
Report Check-Ingreat location close to waterton national park
walmart 30 minutes away in pincher creek!
great spot for a few days, lots of privacy.
no toilets, we used the ones on the campsite across the bridge
Great spot! A few friendly locals came down to fish, and one other camper and tent midweek. Love the white noise from the river/dam. No cell service since you're essentially in a depression from the road above.
Report Check-InPretty site near the river (we went left at the fork because there was a camper blocking/camped in the middle of the road where the coordinates are - don't be that guy).
A few cars went by, like 3 or so. But other than that it was a quiet night. I was worried about traffic noise from the highway above, but the river drowned out what little noise there was.
Bugs weren't bad at all. We slept the whole night with our doors open and no mosquito net up (it was a bit hot until midnight or so - sun doesn't go down until 9:30)
Report Check-InMany nice spots for camping. We first slept there on a Saturday night, much busier but still managed to find a quiet spot. We returned after our trip to Waterton and has it was a Wednesday it was very quiet. Only an another camper with us. Locals come here to fish, so be aware and nice to them! :)
Report Check-InGreat spot with a river view. A few other campers here with us. Very quiet even though it is near the road across the dam.
Report Check-InWow très tranquille près d’une petite rivière! 2-3 spots et un autre plus haut.
Report Check-Inawesome place!! 10/10. you can see if your RV or trailer will fit from the road as well. lots of space though. any vehicle should be fine
Report Check-InGreat place, very quiet. Almost no garbage, let's keep it that way people.
We chose the spot on the tip of the river, beautiful view.
Only a few people around fishing in the daytime.
A couple spots down by the river. Easy to access from main road. Close to the road but feels quite private once you’re down here. Really nice!
Report Check-InVarious spots to chose next to a river and a dam. Although it's not far from the highway (500m on gravel) it is quiet and we were the only ones. No toilet or anything but good to spend a night. It's about 25mins drive to waterton lakes national park.
Report Check-InI like this spot. Just entered Canada and the reviews written convinced me to choose here over other others on the route northbound. I’m satisfied here. There is no one else here, but a few evening fishermen earlier. It’s a peaceful and quiet place to listen to sounds of the river. I’m enjoying it!
Report Check-Ingood spot, river is fresh and there are some trees to protect you from the sun in the morning. Plus it doesn't feel like you're in the middle of a flat nowhere 😁
Report Check-InGravel drive, down at the bottom of the dam.
No signs posted about overnight stays.
Plenty of people fishing in the river.
Report Check-InThere is a small but really nice campground at the lake for 16$ a night, but if you go down the other side of the dam (it’s a quite steep dirt road) you get to this nice free spot at the river
Report Check-Invery nice spot just about the other side of the waterton reservoir (where also you can find a provincial recreation area for 12$ a night). the difference is that here is FREE!!!
