Description

Mirador / refugio with an amazing view down onto the crazy road and across to the mountains, as well as a view to the stunning glacial blue Laguna Cancaracá. You can also walk down to it from here for a swim! The refugio would be perfect for cyclists to stay if the weather got bad - it's basic and has a little fireplace (not that there's much wood up here!).

great place, amazing views! was hard to get my bicycle there, but i managed. someone tried to make fire and failed, so i was lucky and could had enough wood for a fire, still very cold night, but i enjoyed it. roof leaky, windows open, so you need to build your tent inside, mine just fitted, the space is about 3x3m

Spent the night here, it's a fantastic place to camp if you don't mind pushing your loaded bike up a rocky trail. The refugio has space for only one medium tent and the bike, so probably not good if you're travelling in a big group. You can filter/boil water from the nearby laguna. There are no toilets.

Beautiful spot.
Park along the road where the annonce thé Mirador just after passing the tunnel and the first Laguna (coming from Caraz) after it's only 10 min walk to the shelter with an amazing with over the mountains and the second Laguna ! worth to stop there.
