Description

Awesome little "boondocking" site. We only stayed for one night and didn't pay or see the landowners. Supposedly its $5 a night. Lots of options to camp. a handmade sign off of the Mex 1 marks the 10 mile dirt road to the beach. Good enough road that a 40 footer was at the end but the best spots are across the arroyo (4wd recommended) Great little surfing and fishing spot. Beware of the closest campsites. The sand is soft. I got stuck. Pit toilets only. Be aware of rattlesnakes.

Accessing the site required navigating a long, bumpy road, manageable in a FWD Promaster. The arroyo posed the most challenge, but it was fairly passable. While there was a medium crowd, ample space allows for spreading out comfortably. Campsites are nestled near dunes, providing a natural barrier from the sea. The location appears ideal for surfing enthusiasts and is home to a local fishing community."

The road in was the gnarliest 15kms we’ve ever driven on. We drove through a gate at about the 10km mark that said “private property.” Made it to a beautiful campsite and got our 22ft skoolie stuck in some sneaky soft sand very quickly. The sunset was incredible. Very few people around, one family came by selling fish and lobster, and an angel named Pedro came by to get us out of the sand. Stayed two nights, thanks to being stuck and just before our departure a man came by to collect camping fees. He was so kind and only charged us 100 pesos for 1 night. Saw about 5 rigs heading in to camp as we were leaving.

Great little spot to camp for a few days. We had some great surf - there’s both a left hand and right hand (exposed point break) wave here. Can get quite windy in the afternoons. Plenty of spots to camp, either up in the dunes with a 4x4 or further from the beach (but a stones throw). We took our 24 ft shuttle bus and we’re fine. Road in is long and hard sand - 10 miles/16kms - didn’t need to air down tyres. Expect 40ish minutes driving depending on what vehicle you’ve got. A man came around for camping fees which was 50 pesos a night per person. There’s a cold well water shower and it’s got a hose there so we used this to fill up our fresh water tank to have warm showers in our bus (not for drinking). One of our favorite spots so far in Baja. Take the dirt road at km 80 to get here. Fire pits and apparently trash disposal but we didn’t see it. Cell service at some campspots and not at others

Report Check-In

It‘s a beautiful quite lonely beach. We stayed for two nights and had to pay 50 pesos per person/night. We came here for surfing which wasn‘t that good unfortunately. There was no one else camping around here. We stayed in the dunes which was great.

Report Check-In

Stayed there 2 nights, unfortunately we couldn’t surf because the wave were too big for us but we heard it’s should be a very nice place to surf.
The road from the highway is quite long 45 minutes. It’s worth the drive if your planing to stay more than one night.
A Guy came to ask us the money for the night, it was 50 pesos per night per person..
No cell reception.

lots of gringos...mostly surfers. two waves, one left point break rocky (watch for urchins) and one deep beach break. swell tends to break bigger here. magic seaweed said 2-3ft and it was overheaders. long bumpy road for access near km 82...paid 70p per person, guy came in the morning to collect. lots of spots. please dont drive on the beach - turtles nesting

Nice and calm place. Nobody has come to collect money. Be aware of rattlesnakes!

Beautiful wild beach with lots of spots to camp. We paid 50MP/pp. The dirt road on the way in was fine and scenic, you drive between thousands of cactuses. Some sandy areas but perfectly doable with a 2wd. We camped by the lighthouse. Very calm, we only saw another rig parked far from us and the two people that came to collect our money. Pretty cold at night. This area gets strong winds, so if you come to surf, check the forecast before driving all the way there.

Great surfspot and camping. We stayed here 4 nights and only had to pay once... 50 pesos pp.
There’s an outdoor shower with fresh water and a pit toilet.
Cell service near the lighthouse.
Fishermen come by in the afternoon to sell their fish.
Very long lefthander when the swell is on point. Rocky bottom and clear, warm water! Watch out for urchins.
The turn-off to the dirtroad is 14miles after the El Cien sign when coming from the North. Manageable without 4x4!

Report Check-In

We only stayed here for one night, close to the fishing huts cause further down the road gets really sandy and is not manageable without 4x4.

Mellow vibe came only from the surfing people. Late in the evening we got approached by two unfriendly people, collecting the fee - 120 pesos. In the end we paid 60 pesos.
We didn't see any showers or toilets. All in all for us a quite unpleasant experience.

Along the gravel road there are quite some turn outs which you can take if you are just looking for a quiet place for the night.

Report Check-In

Lots of quiet and beautiful spots to stop and camp next to the beach. Just continue north along the dirt road until you find a nice pull out. Most have great views and we found quiet a few fire pits. Very quiet - you'll likely have the pace to yourself if you drive just a few km north. No one approached us for a fee. We came in on the road further north on highway one and it was washboard and bumpy. Took about 30 minutes from the highway to our campsite.

Report Check-In

We are camped quite a bit from the facilities, but the owner still comes by to collect. About $4-6 a person. Great view of the surf. Mellow vibes. Lots of big trucks as there is a new organic farm being built right behind us.

Report Check-In

Stayed for the night on the way to La Paz for the boys to get a surf in. Was a bit windy at night but we were comfortable behind the dunes. No amenities. No one came to collect money. Drive in was 16KM which took about 45 minutes, our friends were in a standard vehicle (not 4WD) and were able to get in and out without any problems of getting stuck in sand.

Report Check-In

We spend 2 nights at the beach.first night nobody colect mony the second night we payd 4 dollor per person.

Report Check-In

Incredibly beautiful boon docking site! There is a long dirt road from the highway to the coast. Just before the water there is an overlook and the road splits left to where the map marker is and all the camp spots are. Instead we went right a few hundred meters, just let the first arroyo to the north and driver through the sand dunes to a secluded and private spot overlooking the ocean. Simply incredible. Our stock 4x4 made it even though we were concerned about the soft sand. No amenities but a million dollar view made it worth it. No one bothered us all night. It was free. We did see dolphins while eating breakfast and several flying fish. Strong evening winds died down at night. Keep driving north and there may be more boon docking sites depending on your comfort with off trail and sand driving.

Report Check-In

Take turn in km Post 82...the road was in an awful condition and it took us 1 hr to get there. Ghost town like...Nobody there, Nobody charged us. Disgusting toilet, windy....it's probably worth the Trip if you are a Surfer, otherwise it's not worth going that far.

Stayed for three nights, awesome spots on the beach. Someone came to collect on the last night $50 pesos per person per night. Loved this spot bring plenty of water and food!
