A great FREE campground near Lake Okeechobee. There are new bathrooms with showers and toilets. There are several sites with tables and a firepit. You need to register and have a permit. Mosquitos are rough so come prepared!
Why? By checking in after you’ve visited a place you let others know this place is still functional. You can also add or correct any information.
clean bathrooms, hot showers, new picnic tables, friendly host Lots of shade. Must pre apply for a special use license prior to arrival (free). AT&T 2 bars
Report Check-InJust as others have mentioned, quiet, free, potable water, flushable toilets and free hot showers. Outlets in the bathrooms. Most spots are shaded.
Actually lots of people with horses during the weekend (they're the ones that made showers happen apparently).
Overall a great spot.
Free, quiet, peaceful campground. As others have mentioned, you need a permit to stay here, but that process is easy enough through their website. Locked gate, bathroom, showers, water available.
Report Check-InAs others have described, this is a free public campground for which one must register online in advance. It has a locked gate, which provides some security. When you register, you receive the combination, which is changed regularly. The sites are level, and some have water spigots. Flush toilets with a hot shower. Bathroom was clean. Mix of sun and shady options. Most seem to have picnic tables and fire rings. There is some road noise. Sites are somewhat close together, but not bad. ATT has 5G, and one bar cellular.
Report Check-InFree camping on South Fl water management district property. Must obtain free special use permit to stay from website. Equestrian and non equestrian campsite. Nice picnic tables and fire rings on all sites. 2 bath houses with cold water only showers. Camp host are very nice.Free dump and non potable water station. Free camping at its finest. USE GATE 3!!
Report Check-InFree peaceful off-grid camping! Water, dump station, hot showers. Get a free permit in advance from www.sfwmd.gov
Report Check-InAs described below. I'll add the Verizon service is great. I found it quiet but quite crowded, very busy with not much privacy between sites, so if you're looking for solitude this isn't the place.
Report Check-Inexcelente lugar, gratis, buena atención del host.
hay agua no potable en la puerta 3 y electricidad en los baños, para cargar celulares y power- bank. lugar para volver.
Spent 3 weeks here on and off. You can stay 7 nights, then have to leave for 24 hours and can come back. This was one of our favorite spots so far with water, flush toilets and hot showers. We'll be back next year when our 30 days reset.
Report Check-InNice free camping with showers and water, have to get a permit online, book ahead as it seems popular. Definitely bugs…
Report Check-InThis is a terrific campground. There are no hookups, thus no water, electric or sewer at your site. However, there is access to water and a nice private shower with lots of hot water. It is a great location and dark at night--like real camping.
Report Check-InReally nice free campground. Flush toilet, showers, and water. Need special use permit from South Florida Water Management. Can stay up to 8 days at a time. https://www.sfwmd.gov/community-residents/recreation/sul
Report Check-InHave to register online for free camping with potable water, hot showers, and dump station. Tons of trails for walking and biking. Fairly close to the road however so there is noise most of the time unfortunately. Bugs can be rough. AT&T works fine.
Report Check-InWe came here just to dump, but unfortunately the gate is locked. I went to see the host but She wouldn’t let me in just for dumping. I had to make a reservation, but there is no at&t. So we had to drive to Indiantown but there is also no at&t. Finally we went to McDonald’s and got the reservation done. And that just to dump.
Report Check-InLiking it here, small free campground, walk or bike to hot showers, 10+ miles to Indiantown 20+ miles to Stuart on the coast. Quiet and peaceful 😎
Report Check-InWe stayed here in a 22 foot camper for 3 nights and it was great! Has a dump station, water to fill up your tanks, bathrooms, HOT showers and tables/fire rings at some of the spots. Online registration is easy; stay here max of 8 nights in a row, 30 days in the year. T Mobile gets pretty good service.
Report Check-Ina free campsite for RV, with horse or not, with some service, clean, but you need to register and have a permit
Report Check-Inafter the online registration we went in this place. quiet, shower and bathrooms are new. some of mosquitos in the evening!! we wanted to stay one night, but then we were two because we liked this tranquility. market is in Indiantown, 10-minute drive.
Report Check-Inwe stopped in to take a look and ended up staying. excellent, quiet, clean campground. very well managed with rules enforced as they should be.
Report Check-InAfter being on the road for over 3 months across the US, we were surprised to find a free campground down here in FL. We registered online and drove to this place. Upon arriving, while we were searching for a place to park, an older man with short white hair flagged us down and immediately gave us a bad vibe. He was the campground 'volunteer' and told us exactly where we had to park and laid out the rules like we didn't already know them. He was extremely unpleasant. I smiled and acted friendly but he wasn't welcoming whatsoever. On top of that, the place smelled strongly of dog poop (and it wasn't the swamp). As we drove in, the place looked nice but was packed with hoards of unfriendly people. Such a bummer. We left 5 minutes later and opted to stay at a truck stop an hour south. Sucks that they were so unwelcoming and rude.
Report Check-InYou need a Special Use Licence ( SUL) to camp at the equestrian campground. You can do it online for free at https://www.sfwmd.gov/community-residents/recreation/sul. It will take 5 minutes. You can do that the date of your arrival.
RV are allowed only at the equestrian campground, gate 3 of Dupuis WMA. Open the door and close behind you because of horses.
Dump station and water to fill up your tanks.
Mosquitoes ++++
Great place. Toilets and showers are now available.
