Latest Check-Ins

Awesome campground! New tables, grills and fire rings at every space. Lots of trees for privacy. Trails nearby for hiking and mountain biking. Very clean and close to highway without much noise.

Rate is now $12. AT&T works fine. If you pay via the app still fill out an envelope and put your confirmation number as payment. Very well maintained campground.

Report Check-In

Confirming what others have said, nicer than average FS or State Park campground. They even had 2 ply toilet paper in the vault toilets, a luxury for those of us used to the typical thin as tissue paper TP.

Good Verizon service, despite having minimal service when driving up from Ely and when heading the opposite direction the next day. Still no water on-site. There are also tons of FS roads in the surrounding area that you could likely dispersed camp on for free.

Report Check-In

A nicer than average FS campground. Lots of spaces; we arrived at 5:30 on a Thursday. We stayed on second loop, which was about 2/3 reserved. Spaces are close, but lots of cedar trees give some privacy. Prices is now $12 ($6 for senior pass).

Report Check-In

Tried to camp here but the road to the campground was covered in snow. So we just pulled off the highway and spent the night there. No issues. Fairly quiet, with occasional semis going by.

Ward Mountain Campground is a gem of a find. $8/$4 with access pass per night for well maintained sites (fire pits, picnic tables, tent pads, level gravel sites, pit toilets). As mentioned in other reviews (and reason for taking away one star) water is still out. Website informs so if you are prepared it is not a problem. The campground is a very short gravel road away from highway 93 just outside of Ely, NV. Elevation is 7000 plus so cooler. Many sites, some reservable, others (like mine #29) are first come first serve. There are two huge group campsites and also sites marked for RVs, however all sites (as far as I could tell can accommodate cars and/or RVs). Place is big enough with enough sites that likely you will find a quiet spot. Very peaceful now, no noise, and both group campsites were loaded with people, so nice! There is plenty of hiking (easy to difficult) and mountain biking trails with trailhead right from campground. Overall very impressed (great value) and will keep this on my list as should return.

Report Check-In

Nice, clean, very quiet campground with a lot of trails. Early Wednesday afternoon and lots of sites available.

Report Check-In

Nice campsite clean, well spaced out sites. We arrived on Saturday 4:00 in September and we got the last available spot. You can reserve in advance so many spots were “open” but reserved. If there are no spots available they have overflow parking lot. Nothing special but nice to have the option.

Rolled in pretty late. Found a first come first serve camp site no problem for $8. It’s dark and I don’t know where the pit toilet is. Interested to see what this place looks like come morning. Nic’s temperature outside. That is all.

Report Check-In

Beautiful campground! Very clean, vault restrooms and water available. Spacious sites.

Report Check-In

There are numerous hiking trails, but we didn't have time to explore the mountain.

Report Check-In

Campsites with pinion trees throughout the campground. Each site has a fire ring, picnic table, and BBQ. The camp host is super friendly and helpful. Cost is $8.00 but with an interagency pass it is $4.00. There is no water at the campsites, but there is a large potable water tank that we discovered that campers used for their drinking water. The pit toilets are super clean.
