Description

Situated next to a girls private school (perhaps owned by) this small game reserve with giraffe zebra wildebeests and kudu offers camping at their "hikers" hut. 10$ pppn and 5$ for the vehicle. They will light the boiler and the campfire for you. They even asked if we wanted to stay in the hut, but I reckon most overlanders have better beds in their tents than the ones provided by the park.

If you arrive in the after hours, just talk to the guards at de gate of the school; they can help you out.

You can hike freely throughout the park.

Recommended for a stopover if en route to Harare

The actual location is about 1km further north along the tarred turnoff. I arrived at 5pm, and the lady who has to book you in for overnight stays wasn't around. So be aware this can happen. I got lucky, and someone else gave me a spot to camp nearby for free.

Very nice stop close to Harare. We paid 35$ for 2 people and a rooftop tent. Some long drop toilets at the picnic sites, we didn’t try the showers. Inside a small ‘game reserve’ where you can walk freely - saw some impala, zebra, wildebeest, giraffe.

Beautiful place, well maintained. Yes, part of the school and pretty much all people I saw on the log were staff, so they confused when a visitor showed up. but they said it's fine and very welcome. Still $10 pppn + $5 for the vehicle. Saw zebra, elan, buffalo, giraffe, impala visiting us in camp. Recommended!
