Perfect place, your private horseshoe. $10. for a spectacular view.

Always amazes me when I read blase reviews about a stunning place such as this. To me this is an overlander/boondocker paradise. We are parked 20' from a precipitous 1000' drop off to the San Juan River... no guard rails or any hint of "improvements" ... just raw access to an amazing natural phenomenon. On top of that it is a wonderful place to take your dog for a walk. Of course it would be great if it were free ($10/night) ... but it seems worth it to me. With our WeBoost and Starlink that part of the equation is no problem. If you are in the area, do yourself a favor and stop by!

Spent 2 nights here ( the maximum you are allowed)

Very quiet. Beautiful location.

Report Check-In

Kentucky of room. Easy access. $10. Clean rest rooms.

Report Check-In

Very cool spot. And for only $10/night. Clean pit toilets. Good cell service. Free wifi (starlink). Lots of garbage cans spread around. Otherwise it’s a pack in pack situation. Come prepared with water and food (food is expensive in these parts)

Report Check-In

There is plenty of space for large rigs. At&t works fine. Came up wind late in the day. The cost is $10.00.

Report Check-In

There are many open campsites along the cliff edge. The description of the park states about 8 sites, but there are many more without tables or fire rings. We found a spot with a beautiful view of the sunset and the river. There are pit privies which appear very well maintained. Fires only permitted in fire rings, which are not at every site. We had good ATT service.

Report Check-In

stayed here on a warm July evening and had the place to ourselves. camped at one of the sites along the cliff edge. wonderful spot, clean pit toilet.

Report Check-In

Amazing! $10 per night plenty of room around the rim.

Report Check-In

$10 - very nice, quiet. Primitive camping - super view of the carved out landscape. Not much hiking to do here. We stayed 1 day/night. Peaceful. Good for any type of rig.

Report Check-In

Big rig friendly primitive campground. Level but lots of rough rocks as you get further from the main entrance. Great for one night. Lots of rigs coming and going and a few that look like they’ve been here for longer stays.

Report Check-In

Simple place with a great view. Small $10 fee. Nearest town Mexican Hat ~4.5mi away. Pit toilet, picnic table, and fire pit

Report Check-In

A terrific find! $10 cash only to camp overnight; if the station is unmanned there is a box to deposit the fee. Spots are grouped at the entrance and then spread around the rim. Stunning views, peaceful. The road around the rim is flat but very bumpy; the wind blows hard when it blows.

Report Check-In

$10 for camping (pit toilets, possible picnic table and fire ring) includes the $5 park entrance so it's a steal to camp for only an extra $5 if you're coming anyway.

Camp right by the edge. There are like 3 sites right by fee both by rim with the "ammententies" as well as 4 not on the rim. My understanding is you could go on in and just camp along the rim in a "dispersed" fashion so you're not limited those spots.

I had almost full LTE AT&T signal

Report Check-In

This is a really special and unique place. Definitely recommend.

Report Check-In

As described by others- very clean toilets, great views, windy. We were the first to check in at around 4:30. Eventually there were three others. Plenty of space for dispersed camping along the rim.

Report Check-In

Fantastic spot to camp on the rim of a gorgeous canyon with Monument Valley in the distance. There are pit toilets, picnic tables (some with shade structures), and fire rings. Camping is limited to 2nights $10/per night

Report Check-In

parking on the rim of the canyon is spectacular. I stopped for a look and decided to stay, definitely worth the $10 camping fee

Report Check-In

Arrived after sunset even though we'd never camped here before. Figured that we should avoid camping on any big black voids. Paid our $10 camping fee which also covered the $5 entrance fee to the park. No attendant - just the iron ranger. Bring a pencil to fill out the registration envelope.
The campsites are stretched all along the rim of the canyon. Some sites have fire-pits. Some have shade structures. Garbage cans are plentiful in the "developed" area of the campground. No water or electric. No dump. Most looked pretty level. This is dispersed camping, so pick your place and set up. We chose a site about 30 ft from the rim that had a spectacular view up both directions of the canyon. When we were there, the campground was about 25% full. We imagine the Spring and Fall seasons are much busier.
Cell was weird. It was perfectly clear weather, but the 3G LTE would come and go, like someone was turning the power off on the tower (which was not visible but assumed to be in Mexican Hat nearby). Worked with both AT&T and Verizon.
When we return, we'll probably go to the last two or three sites, just to be as far away as possible, even though the whole place was dead-quiet. Despite the signs prohibiting it, there was someone flying a drone, so the 6AM birdsong & nature sounds symphony was shattered by that irritating whine from the device. We were wishing for it to crash. Fortunately they only flew it for twenty minutes or so.

Report Check-In

Hot in the summer, but great views. Pit toilets, no water, no shade. Verizon voice call worked, but no data.

Report Check-In

Nice destination, great view of the San Juan River as it meanders through. Very close to Valley of the Gods to do a road trip, and also check out Sand Island petroglyphs down 163. Can get windy, yesterday around 8 and blew 30 mph gust for about 30 minutes and was done. Today about 10 mph gust but comfortable. Worth a visit very quite spot. You could here the river below in the early morning.

Good to know that the entrance for the day is 5$. So, as I understood when we came there to see the view, if you stay here for the night, it's only 5$ more than if you Come just for the day. I let you try and confirm (or not) ;)
