Description

This is a secure family-run site with a restaurant, small RV parking lot (our truck camper fit comfortably at 24'long x 11.8' high x 9' wide), and cabanas. Nothing fancy, but has banos and outdoor showers. The cabanas are $12, or if you sleep in your camper like we do, it's only $5/night. Lots of palm shade, super nice family, Dad speaks English, has a place to wash your laundry, and a walk-thru to El Cuco beach. Wifi, electricity and a swimming pool included. Right on the ocean power $3

Swung by here to check out the facility. I did not care much about the facility. For one you are far away from beach in the parking lot. I have been spoiled in MX and Baja. I prefer my car on the beach. So after Checking the parking situation I headed out to Playa de Esteron and parked my car right on the beach. It right by the Military post and everyone said it was safe and secure. save your money and head to Playa Esterton

Report Check-In

Awesome little hotel and restaurant combo right on the beach! They didn’t have any actual camp spots but they let us park in the parking lot right next to the bathrooms which were very clean. They had outdoor showers with cool refreshing water to wash off at after a day at the beach. They also allowed us to use electricity from an outlet right next to the bathroom which was nice to run some fans because it is HOTT! Everyone was very nice and helpful and you really can’t beat being a few steps away from the beach! They charged us $13 USD per night with electricity.

Report Check-In

$56US/night, includes breakfast. Secure parking for vehicles behind large gate. Super friendly staff, accommodated our two dogs and even offered us a larger room (they were hesitant as they recently had guests with dogs that trashed their room). They wanted them to sleep outside, but we explained we have dog beds, will keep them off the hotel beds, etc. and it all worked out.

Restaurant on site (didn't use), hotel rooms are steps from the beach. Nice pool. Pulperías and other restaurant options within walking distance. Note that many of the restaurants close around 7:00pm so plan dinner accordingly. Large property gate closed and locked at night, as well.

Report Check-In

the gates were closed when we arrived, when we asked the locals they said it was permanently closed.

Report Check-In

Paid $5 (1 person) great spot for one night, with pool, showers and toilets . Just through the hotel and restaurant and you are on the beach.

Report Check-In

Stayed for a night and enjoyed the place. Clean bathrooms, very refreshing cold outdoor showers, good wifi up in the restaurant, path to the beach, friendly staff and secure spot. $5 for two of us in a truck camper. Headed to Honduras border early in the morning and was about 1 hr 15 min drive. Definitely walk to Taqueria Nuevo Sason y Comedor in town for delicious tacos (open 3-8 pm). The owner is super friendly and makes the best tacos we've eaten since Mexico!

Report Check-In

Arrived at 7:30. the attendant was not very friendly. no wifi in the parking area. they lock the door at 8pm so you have to be back by then. poor facilities. great place for a single night but that's it.

Report Check-In

We stayed here for one night and felt very safe. There were a lot of visitors because it was sunday. The toilets were clean and good outdoor showers. Paid 5 USD.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for 3 nights. There's lovely clean bathrooms and outdoor showers, only $5 a night, and a short walk to village centre where you can buy water and food. It does get extremely busy from locals on the weekend, but a surprising number of them spoke English and were excited to see you. If you don't care about any of the amenities, there's a much more private wild camping spot a little further out of town for free.

Report Check-In

This is a nice and not pretentious spot if you are looking for an affordable place to camp (paid $5 for two people).

When you enter there is a big parking lot w showers and bathrooms. You can camp there (it’s very quiet at night. Weekends might not be as quiet). The you continue walking and you will find a small pool and about 5-6 rooms around the pool area.

Continue walking a bit and you will see the small restaurant that’s right next to the water beach. The restaurant is just a bunch of tables on the sand - it’s covered. Right on the beach. Lots of hammocks as well. Super great spot to chill and get cold beers.

It was a cheap place to arrive after a long day on the bikes. We are happy here but it simple and now it has WiFi :) and plenty of toilet paper

We are camping by the pool, under a small kiosk. It’s May, rainy season! We recommend this place. Camped here during a Tuesday - this might get busier during the weekend

Report Check-In

Everything continues the same. From the price, to the not so clean pool, and the lack of toilet paper. All in all, a good option in the region. Really safe. Dog is still around and while it doesn’t represent any danger to us, it may be unfriendly to other dogs.
The beach is beautiful... Clear water and great temperature.

Report Check-In

the beach access is through a dodgy restaurant so no where to chill out on the beach but secure and the only reasonably priced place I could find @ $5 per van. Gates front and back locked at night. pool isn't the cleanest

Report Check-In

Jonathan is such a friendly and helpful guy, speaks good English. Good shade for parking, ok wifi, outdoor showers and toilets allfor $5/night per vehicle. Easy access to beach and use of their pool, hammocks. There are rooms here too. Quiet at night and gate is closed, felt very safe.
Highly recommended!
(they do have 3 large dogs, friendly)

Report Check-In

No dog's welcome as the owner has an aggressive one himself now!

Report Check-In

Nice place, 5usd per campercar, friendly owner Armando speak english.

Report Check-In

place is really nice. swimming pool, outdoor showers, flush toilets without tp. wifi. still 5 usd per vehicle or tent. direct access to the beach. staff was not very welcoming but life goes on.

Report Check-In

Really nice cheap place, still 5USD. good showers they've installed new bathrooms but wasn't working when we were there. Close to the beach but not right on it - great place for a night though. Amazing WiFi

Report Check-In

E a internet é bem ruim.

Report Check-In

Stayed one night for $5 USD plus $3 USD for electricity that was strong enough to run Air Conditioner. Right next to ocean ocean, cabañas and restaurant on property.

Report Check-In

Nice place, calm and quiet. Wifi was fast when it worked.

Report Check-In

Nice place, run by a family. US$ 5 per night + US$ 3 per night for electricity. Sometimes during the day there is no water in the shower, I think they were having some trouble.
There is a sink next to the house where we did our dishes. The bathroom had no toilet paper.
We stayed 3 night (week days) and it was very quiet. They have a pitbul but she is cute and likes to play.

Report Check-In

Nice and safe place, great family, $5 for parking, toilets, shower, wi fi and swimming pool. Highly recommended!! Stayed 3 nights.

Report Check-In

Very nice place! The soon of the owner is very friendly and the family too. There are shadow by the palm tree, a very good pool with clean water, the bathrooms are good and if you need, you can fill your tanks of water. We spend two nights, and we pay 5$ for night with our van.

Report Check-In

We stayed here one night. The spot was fairly quiet though very busy in the morning (Saturday). Wifi was fine, though no outlets where you could get signal. Pool was good, beach ok. According to LP at Cuco beach you're supposed to watch out for jellyfish and Ray's ("shuffle when going out"). Cheap place , $5 a night. Shower /toilet is fine though nothing special. We were going to move on to the places by Tortuga Verde but had car troubles and headed to San Miguel.

Report Check-In

Very nice place. We stayed 3 days during the weekend. Pretty noisy because of the Saturday night. A lot of locals people go to the playa on weekend.
Clean showers and toilets.
Price as mentioned.

Report Check-In

Not a bad spot. Lots of spaces to park your rig $5 p/d in the shade with good wifi and use of electricity $3 p/d. Clean bathrooms and showers. Jose and his family are very accommodating. He even showed me a good cheap pupuseria my first night.

Report Check-In

we stayed 1 night here with a little campervan. Nice spot, very safe en quiet during the night. there is a private bathroom only for campers. wifi access. all for 5$ usd. you can plug your campervan for a few $ more.

Report Check-In

Great place to spend a couple of days and relax at the beach. We stayed here with some other overlanders and paid 8$ per night with electricity. They also have a pool and restaurant. If you like it cheaper, try the Pupusas at the opposite of the street. 3 for 1 Dollar :-) We liked it here and stayed 3 nights.

Report Check-In

We spend two nights here, 8$ per night for two people, our truckcamper and electricity. Wifi didn't work when we stayed there.
New and clean bathrooms.
The gate closes at night

Report Check-In

$ 8,- for a beautiful place with good wifi, power, clean flush toilet + shower, clean beach, nice helpfull owner (speaks english!) and pool area, sometimes some loud music and of course: the sun!. What else you need?!

Report Check-In

Spent a night here on our way to Punta Mango. We paid 7$ with electricity. Decent toilets and cold water shower. It felt safe. If you stay here during the weekend, expect some loud karaoke music from the neighbours.

Report Check-In

The owner Jonathan is very friendly and helpful
The place is nice : pool with cristal water, beautiful pool for kids it's great
Access to beach very easy
8USD with electricity 5USD without
You must come here !
Jonathan is a best owner of Salvador !

Report Check-In

This was our first stay in El Salvador and we really enjoyed it!
The place is owned by a really nice family and it's safe and quiet.
The parking lot is shady ( watch out coconut trees) and protected from sea breeze (salty sea air is destroying our van), new bathrooms only for overlanders, great wifi (we were in front of the bathrooms and the signal was strong), laundry area, new pool, beach access, electricity and its near the local restaurants and shops in town or the stree pupusas.
We arrived planning a two day stay but ended up staying a whole week to nurse some injuries on our van.
Prices: 5 per day per camper// 3 per day electricity

Report Check-In

Not really sure how this place was so highly rated. Maybe it's because the main owners aren't here or because we got in on a Monday after a busy weekend. But camping spots are in the parking lot behind the main building so not a lot of breeze. New bathrooms are up but they were super dirty (i.e. barf in the toilet and not sure what was in/around sink, no toilet paper FYI). The wifi is great and not something other places offer, so something to consider if you need it. Pool was turning green and beach in this end is pretty dirty due to sewage from town and all food stands (beach towards Tortuga Verde is way cleaner). $5 per camper and $3 for electricity.

Report Check-In

Parking is good for one night. 5 dollars for the night without electricity. They have finished the new showers and bathrooms for campers. Beach is not that nice. Lots of urin smells. You can see where all the village sewage system runs directly to the ocean! I would not go to the water here.

Report Check-In

Great place to park your rig. Not the nicest beach. Alot of people on the weekend and not much to eat around. We get stared at alot.

Report Check-In

This place is a gem. Shady, quiet and very safe campsite, run by the most charming family. Very fast wifi, pool, place for doing laundry, showers, toilets and right on the ocean. They are in the throes of building a shower block for travelers as they acknowledge we like 'nice things'! English spoken. $5 for a vehicle to camp with electricity!! Also has a restaurant with amazing ceviche and the prices for travelers are $2 less than for locals! We thought that pretty funny but they obviously want the tourist trade. Beach is good for playing in the waves, not too big waves, and sand for miles for games of soccer or volleyball. I just can't get over how lovely Salvadorans are!!

Report Check-In

Report Check-In

Secure friendly family owned place. 2 $ discount per plate if you eat at their restaurant on the beach. Electricity is 3$ extra. Water to fill tank available.

Report Check-In

We stayed over a week to nurse some injuries. This family has seen that there is good buisness in hosting Overlanders and is converting their restaurant parking lot over to an Overlanders camping ground. Soon to come showers with walls and doors, more toilets, more electricity plug in. We paid $ 7 per day for two ppl and a dog hooked up to electricity. The wifi is pretty good if you park closer to the family's house, and you are the only camper. Once others show up its slow. The restaurant food was expensive, but they gave us a discount because we were staying there, although we still didn't eat there again. Too many cheap, good pupusas along the road. One day we bought a really nice fish off the family to make ceviche. The beach is long and beautiful. The town is limited on food ect so stalk up.

Report Check-In

This place is a lovely option if you plan to cross the border but want a little more beach time. It's shaded, big rig friendly, and the owners are friendly. They have wifi, outdoor showers and toilets. We did a day trip down to tortuga verde to release turtles but happy to come back to our quiet spot. $5/night

Report Check-In

No Garbage!
This family is really nice and they say they love having overlanders as we are so clean, quiet and respectful! This place is very competitive at $5 per night (per vehicle). They are working on running more 20amp power outlets for the vehicle campers, so that they can use Air conditioning (for an additional fee), and said they will soon build washrooms/showers exclusively for overlanders (currently the public washrooms are the only thing lacking at this site).
Very well maintained property with beach access. Big rig friendly... fit our truck/trailer in: 3.5 metres tall, 11 m long, 2.25 m wide.

We stayed there for 3 nights : 5$ a night, beach access, shaddy parking lot, shower and toilett. Very nice familly who owns the place.

Report Check-In

Restaurant parking near the beautiful beach. The staff is very friendly. 5$. Showers-toilet and they offered us electricity.

Report Check-In

Shaded parking lot with beach access. Jonathan, who seemed to be managing the place, was very friendly and attentive. We paid US$5 per night with electricity, toilets, outdoor showers and Internet. The internet doesn't extend throughout the camp, but is strongest the closer you are to the family's house. They give you a discount on food at their restaurant while you stay there and the food is pretty good. Very secure parking. Mind your parking place, as the shade comes from coconut palms.

Report Check-In

Very nice place to spend few days. Don't let your first feeling of the parking lot decide you for somewhere else! The owner of this family business is really lovely. We had discounts on his restaurant menus just because we were overlanders! Safe and quiet place. Good wifi. You pay only 5 dollars for the car.

We went to this camping and found a parking lot with outside dirty and smelly bathrooms. Didn't feel like a good place to stay so we went to Rio Mar

Report Check-In

This is a secure family-run site with a restaurant, small RV parking lot (our truck camper fit comfortably at 24'long x 11.8' high x 9' wide), and cabanas. Nothing fancy, smells a bit like dog poo (there are 3 dogs here) but has banos and outdoor showers. The cabanas are $12, or if you sleep in your camper like we do, it's only $5/night. Lots of palm shade, a walk-thru to El Cuco beach.
