Description

*Day Use Area Only.
......
Beautiful spot! Great view/sunset on Sonoma lake! Dinner table and toilet (as of June the toilet was tipped over) at the spot. Some other cars stopped to use the toilet or rest. No sign 'no overnight parking'. Big rigs probably don't fit, a van or pickup/motorhome fits.

was able to easily get here at 5am, slept for a couple hours unbothered and woke up to a nice view. there’s some trash cans and picnic tables but i didn’t notice any type of bathroom like other people mentioned. felt safe at this spot.

Report Check-In

Great little parking lot w view super quit!

Report Check-In

Great place to hang out for the day, and yes, stay overnight. The parking lot is small, so I wouldn't recommend it for a larger vehicle than ours, but we fit fine in our 23' skoolie. we arrived around 1pm and stayed through the morning time. Other vehicles came and went, but no one gave us any problems. It's VERY hot during the day with minimal shade, but beautiful at night. There is a Port-a-potty that isn't too dirty; and a trash can, but it was overflowing during our stay.

Report Check-In

The board clearly states this a "Day Use Area" by the US army corps of engineer.

Report Check-In

beautiful lookout and only one other overnighter in the lot. no signage posted against overnight camping. beautiful at night, you can see the milky way and many stars

Report Check-In

Small parking lot on top of a hill with a really nice view over the Sonoma lake. There is no shade so it was really hot during the day. We went on the small loop hike to the lake which had a little shade (and lots of poison oak). Just a little cellphone signal and a porta potty for your business. Unfortunately, we were there on a Friday night, young locals stayed until 11:00pm and were really noisy. They also left tons on garbage. And the parking was full.

Report Check-In

Small spot for two or three cars. Verizon was poor. Starlink worked well. Nice view. No shade though so gets quite hot in the summer months. Still a nice spot and I would stay again.

Report Check-In

such a nice spot. Mid-March we were the only ones.
not very big so i don't think it's ideal for big rigs, but if you have a class B it's definitely the spot to be! wonderful view and very quiet

Report Check-In

This spot is within State Park boundary and is day use parking. Overnight camping is not allowed although it's not posted as such. I did see one " No Camping" sign at another parkings lot down the road.
When I visited a guy pulled up, sat at the table and smoked a huge joint then proceeded to have a long. loud seemingly intellectual discussion between him and 3 other people in his head. We left.

Report Check-In

Small lot, maybe 6-7 car spots after a steep windy drive up. Sign 2 miles or so before the spot states RV and trailers not recommended but we made it up in our 37’ skoolie. Beautiful sunset views are worth the trek up! Portajohn on site if you’re into that kinda thing.

Report Check-In

Small overlook parking area. No restrooms. Mostly quiet all night, did have someone drive up around midnight and leave an hour later. but didn’t see anyone else till morning. Good one night stop if your tired but wouldn’t stay multiple days

Report Check-In

Really nice view! Was quiet at night, we were the only van parked. Lots of hiking trails and we enjoyed yoga while looking at the lake!

Very buggy at night so I’d recommend bringing bug spray and keeping the car doors closed.

Had some Verizon and t mobile service but it cut out a few hours into working.

Report Check-In

As others described, great spot overlooking a lake. Decent AT&T cell, single portopotty, single picnic table, single bench, single trash and, shared between 6 parking spots. No no camping signs. We stayed overnight with 1 other car, more joined in the morning for hiking. Great overnight when passing through on 101. 15 minutes back to 101 going north, or 20 min going south.

Report Check-In

GORGEOUS overlook of lake sonoma. tiny winding road between pacific ocean coastal town (intersection)of steearts point and great small town of healdsburg....posted “453 turns”![?]) is quiet at night. porta-toilet. pets welcome with leash. five tent sites on south lake trail, maybe more sites on other trails too(?).,

Report Check-In

Nice views and no overnight company.

Note: as of 6/7/20 the portapotty was tipped over, so no available bathroom. That said, the trail off to the right from the overlook showed VERY few signs of use and was quite private.

Report Check-In

Spent a quiet night here. Porta potty and picnic table. Hiking trails down to the lake. A car or 2 came in to use porta potty around 10 pm. Quiet after that. Beautiful view of the lake and somewhat private. There's about 5 parking spaces, but none too big. We were in a 24' sprinter and fit fine.

Report Check-In

Camped here for one night. Like others no issues. I was the only one here all night. I arrived around 10:30 pm and left around 7am. A few cars passed by on the road with more frequent traffic after 6 am. There is a picnic bench and a porta potty, but I didn't use either. There are six parking spots but realistically enough space for 4 vehicles to camp comfortably. The view of Lake Sonoma in the morning is great.

Def worth the drive..... really great spot

Report Check-In

Very nice spor, clean porta potti. Didn’t get bothered at all. Be carefull if you have a dog, lots of ticks on the trail, our dog was covered in them

Report Check-In

All the review info is true. Stayed 1 night with no issues.

Report Check-In

Super pretty spot! It's a trailhead with 6 parking spots and a porta potty. It was pretty quiet, we were the only ones to stay the night but a few people came and went. Also, be aware of the raccoons, they woke us up a few times trying to get into our stuff. Also awesome AT&T reception!!

Report Check-In

Beautiful point, quiet, but Smallville.
Un beau coin sur un petit parking pour 4 ou 5 petits véhicules, table et banc, toilettes sèches, gratuit et pas de panneaux interdisant de passer la nuit

Report Check-In

No "no" signs
Small parking lot with seven parking spaces for regular cars all looking at the lake.
Dark and quiet.
Arrived before ten pm to four cars already here, but either all sleeping or on the trails. set up my "room", shut the door and slept soundly for seven hours!

Report Check-In

Nice pull off spot. No one bothered us at night and we had good nights sleep. No signs and a friendly local hunter told us in the morning that area park rangers rarely check it.

Report Check-In

Great quite spot. Pulled up next to another sprinter van.
Has a toilet and some hiking trails.

Report Check-In

Great small overlook.
Not suitable for big rigs. We drive an F350 with slide in, 24 feet total and it was tight.
Another overlander pulled in beside us.
Early in the morning, pig hunters pulled in and parked and then hiked the trails. We chatted a bit and they did not have an issue with us staying as long as there was parking still available for locals, so don’t take the last spot.
The table has a great view and the pit toilet is a portable one.
Some road noise but nothing that kept us awake.

Report Check-In

We stayed two nights. Quiet and beautiful. It’s a very nice spot. Not a lot of traffic.

Report Check-In

As described, small carpark at beginning of hike overlooking lake. We arrived at the end of sunset and it was beautiful. Some traffic through the night, but mostly very quiet.
One bar of t-mobile reception that came and went.

Report Check-In

so beautiful! quiet and dark.
no one bothered us.
exactly as described, worth the drive!

Report Check-In

As described, a really nice spot, quiet and great views. A small parking of a trail head, with a pit toilet, benches and picknick table. Still no „no camping“ sign. Some visitors stop by taking pictures or using the toilet.

Report Check-In

We had a quiet night at this beautiful spot! Great view/sunset on Sonoma lake! Diner table and toilet at the spot. Some other cars stopped to use the toilet or rested here during the night. No sign 'no overnight parking'. Big rigs probably don't fit, a van or pickup/motorhome fits.
