Report Check-In

The access to get here is a bit complicated, because with the heavy rains that Peru faced this year, the river level raised a lot and destroyed the access to this parking lot. But we managed to get there, after taking a few turns around the bridge 😅 we only spent one night here, and we weren't charged in the morning.
_________

This point is not a safe place to camp in the rainy season, this point is a dry river that floods at any time, even more so due to the phenomenon of El Niño, it has already happened that travelers were stranded since the parking lot was flooded. Likewise, illegal migrants camp in the place, which makes it unsafe to be there, since they ask them for money in exchange for peace of mind.

it's free and close to everything, except a bathroom. a lot of people visit here all day and night and there isn't a public restroom on this whole beach so people are forced to go where they can, which is in between cars, so this whole place reeks of urine. this dusty smelly dust gets into your car and ask but impossible to remove the smell. in the 3 days we were there, I would say at least 4 times, our van was pee'ed ON and countless others used it for cover. a woman's bag was snatched in broad daylight and the obviously drunk man running away was chased by 30 locals. not sure if they caught him. that made us feel uneasy, but reassured. then... the next day a pair of flip flops were left out unsupervised in the morning for 5 minutes were also stolen. it's an alright place, but I would consider yourself warned and be careful with your items.

We stayed here two nights and it was great. There were several other overlanders camped when we arrived. Great beach for swimming, walking, running and close walk to town for groceries or restaurants. Relaxed and perfect free beach spot. No amenities.

é um estacionamento público com grande espaço. fica em frente ao mar. localização excelente!! seguro e tranquilo. ficamos quatro noites. melhor lugar para ficar em Mancora.

Report Check-In

Still No Problem to camp here. when we arrived, there have been already 4 other rigs.

Report Check-In

We stayed 2 nights. The first night two men came by saying it was forbidden and not safe to stay. We should go to the camping nearby. No police, but some employees of the town or we suspect from the camping nearby. Later and the next day the police checkt several times, without even stopping.
The entrance to the parking is from the north at the left before the bridge. From the south after the bridge at the right.
Then to the right under the bridge.
We think it is the best place to stay in Máncora.

Report Check-In

Lots of foot traffic and interesting characters. Strange vibes here....while I was reading my book, a young guy came and chatted with me for a minute near the back of the car and before I could realize, another guy had reached into the truck and stolen my bag. Unfortunately for them all they got was some chapstick and packet of butter but keep an eye out.

Report Check-In

We arrived at 6pm and it was crowded (6 vans parked at 2meters of each other without privacy)!

Report Check-In

We came here expecting to stay 1 night and ended up staying 11 lol. While we were here there were a minimum of 4 vans or campers and a maximum of 8. There are no services but everything you need is super close and easy. No problems with Police and we always felt super safe. While it’s not the cleanest spot it’s directly on the beach and super convenient!

buen lugar para dormir muy tranquilo.

very nice, safe and quite place to park. no one cares if you park there...just 3 minutes walk to the city...nice place to spend time in mancora

Report Check-In

Seems fine to camp here - we didn't see any signs stating otherwise, and no 'f*^king police' came. Seriously, who writes that ?!

Good place for a few nights - on the nice end of the beach and close to everything. Avoid in the weekend - music from the nearby bars went allllllll night for us. We stayed here with another camper, not sure we would camp here by ourselves though as Mancora doesn't feel as chill as the smaller towns on the coast...

Report Check-In

We parked here at the afternoon, all good but at 10PM a policeman said us that we can't stay for the night and we moved in front of hostels nearby.

Report Check-In

We parked here for a week, to get there take the dirt road on the left before the bridge (coming from town) and then turn right and go under the bridge till you get to the beach. No amenities. The Police/Serenazgo even let us light a fire in the beach.

Report Check-In

At the outskirt of town, this place provides an undisturbed and chill vibe. Right by the beach, 5-10 mins walking from the rest of the places.

Report Check-In

We camped in tents with our motorbikes on the beach in front of the bridge . Says no camping but other people were police came past for a friendly conversation but nothing more. Fires seamed to be excepted to . Nice quite night.

Report Check-In
