we had 2 nights on the beach, no issue with a class C without 4*4
there is restrooms and cold shower on the beach, near the pavillons (they have shadow and grill, not in good shape but could work) and the basketball field
if you don't feel comfortable to drive on the beach you can go at the pavillons spots it's just couple of feet of the water
good place, free and possible for up to 14 nights

Report Check-In

Wonderful place, free camping for two weeks with washrooms, showers (cold), and garbage containers. Only 25 minutes from Port Lavaca, where there is a Wal-Mart and the Calhoun County YMCA with hot private showers for $3. There is also a store on the road into Magnolia Beach where you can get ice, beer, aspirin, ice cream, burger and fries..all kinds of stuff. The people were great, too!

Report Check-In

This was our second time here since 2022. We spent 5 days on the waters edge watching the ships sail by. Like last time, everyone is respectful of your privacy and it was quiet. We’re fully contained so we didn’t use the bathroom but it was great having plenty of trash cans nearby. We will definitely be coming back.

Report Check-In

Can fit 100's of rigs at this location. Level spaces, park right on the water + bathroom 🙏

Report Check-In

Back for our 3rd time in a year. It was very fullbwhen we arrived last weekend, but has cleared out some. Even with all the people, it is still pleasant & pretty quiet.

Report Check-In

First time visitors hope it is all that it seems to be.

Report Check-In

Love that place, you can park at 20 feet from the water, can be pretty windy in a moment and no wind after a second, don’t use your awning, 20 minutes from any grocery place do your food reserve before.

Report Check-In

Still an amazing place to stay free for 14 days!

Report Check-In

Got here after dark - easy in/out - not many spaces taken.

Quiet and cool breezes - nice 64F

So/so cell signal, but working good

We’re here last year about same time last year

Report Check-In

Next time will park away from the people with the all night generator.... but the sound of the waves lapping up gently in the bay and the sunset and sunrise were so so worth it. Super hot...need to go again in the cooler times of year and investigate whole area. Everyone seemed very respectful and was not at all crowded almost deserted - prob due to heat and after 4th. Shell beach easy to drive on.

Report Check-In

Very nice! 3 seperate types of areas, 1 you back up to the waves, the next you park next to a cabana with "grass" between you n the beach, the last is mostly if you're fishing. real toilet, had a shower that's not in the best shape n the door doesn't close all the way, but there are also outdoor sand showers. quiet. swim, collect shells, fish or just flake. 14 day stay allowed, then you have to leave for 30.

Report Check-In

Spectacular drive on beach. Up to 14 day camping on the beach for free. The 14 days must include nights you spend on adjacent Indianola Beach. Restroom with flush toilets available. Can be crowded so choose your time frame carefully. The property behind the beach is private so we walked little Nyx on the beach and not the grass.

Report Check-In

As described, very nice. Quiet. We stayed about a week and just relaxed. Port Lavaca is 25 minutes away, with Walmart and the usual retailers.

Report Check-In

would have been a lovely spot but for the weather!!!

Report Check-In

This is the first place I wasn't nervous about parking my 32ft Motorhome right on the beach ! Very hard packed sand and gravel .. waves crashing literally right out your front window. Tons of shells ( mostly broken ones, coal, and oyster looking types ) very clean facility. Showers, bathrooms, picnic tables, Grills, basketball at the end of the road. Areas to kayak and many places to walk and explore. Oh .. and also it's FREE and you can stay 14 days ! Absolutely a wonderful place !

Report Check-In

4 jours 3 nuts ici, vraiment une autre belle place pour rester. Beaucoup de Québécois et de gen sympathiques.
L'eau est froide à ce temps de l'année à 16°C.

Report Check-In

Absolutely beautiful. Just as others have described- a truly free beachside place to stay up to 14 days. There is a section with many cabanas each with picnic table. The restrooms are clean , but the toilet paper did run out during our stay, so you may want to bring some. The other folks here are very nice.

Report Check-In

This is a really great place for a night or two or longer if you just want to relax and do nothing. We noticed that this first beach is the most popular, but after taking a bike ride along the coast, saw there are many more camping options available that were completely empty and had the same signs with the same camping rules. We enjoyed our two nights here. It’s nice to have trash cans available and AT&T was good.

Report Check-In

exactly as described. Perfect spot right on the water. Didn't use the restrooms or showers.

Report Check-In

Yes it is free - just look at the bathrooms. I guess no user fees to pay for upkeep or mtce. In fact, the whole place could use some tlc. But, it is an awesome location and a nice place to overnight. A few others here on this Sunday night.

Ranger came by and gave us the Rules handout. And, she cleaned the bathrooms! Pretty clean now - just need updating. And now, this morning, a guy in a golf cart - local volunteer? - drove through picking up litter. Our opinion of the place is improving 😀

Report Check-In

Just as described! We drove past the bathrooms to a more secluded spot and stayed 3 nights! The last night we stayed there was a strong wind pushing the waves onto the beach and noticed some RVs moving to avoid the waves coming in (this was at 3am). Luckily we parked far enough away that we didn't have to move, but be aware of that! Good Verizon reception. Bathrooms are open and individual (cold) showers are behind the bathrooms.

Report Check-In

park your rig just steps from the water without worrying about getting stuck in the sand (beach is hard -packed crushed shells). there were lots of RVs here but still plenty of space available. the showers were kind of dirty and very cold, but free! flush toilets, garbage barrels, picnic tables... what now could you ask for in a legit free campsite? it felt very safe and was quiet after dark one the generators stopped. the waves were gentle and peaceful. our kids had a great time collecting shells. we would definitely camp here again!

Report Check-In

We really enjoyed our 3 nights here. Very relaxing and quiet. There were about 20 rvs here but there is lots of room. Rode our bikes to the end of the paved road to the Marina for a great cheese burger and some beers on the outside patio and saw some porpoises swimming.

Report Check-In

Just as described… a perfect spot right in the beach!! One of the best things is that it’s actually on a protected bay with no high tide issues to worry about. AND the wave sounds are amazing!!! Please clean up after yourself and have a great time!!

Report Check-In

Pretty awesome spot for the night. Beautiful moon rise over the gulf. Flat level beachfront boondocking. Windy and a bit chilly for me.

Report Check-In

Fellow Road People! More of a parking lot next to water than a ‘beach’. But take a walk down the shoreline and magic happens. Huge, hard-packed lot next to the beautiful bay. Great for kayaking, fishing, and sup. Enough room for many rigs of all sizes. There a is a cool rule that everyone parks perpendicular to water so everyone has a waterfront view and larger rigs do not take up horizontal space. No lights so nights are very dark. Bathrooms are old but very clean. 14 day limit. Free, yes, free. It was very quiet except for waves breaking and coyotes partying. Perfect site for western sunsets but it was gray and rainy when we arrived so we missed it. The next morning was sunny and the place looks gorgeous! Retro ‘cabanas’ at the end give this a super cool tropical vibe. What a great stop! Everyone is quiet, dark and respectful.

Report Check-In

Several miles of beach camping or by cabanas. pull in with the others or further south for solitude. Seems harder packed road in the first mile or so after you cross the bridge. Bridge says 10k limit so keep in mind. This is an intracoastal lake not on the Gulf. No complaints. Pack it in, pack it out. Your mom isn't here to clean up your crap. Decent Verizon LTE signal

Report Check-In

Very nice 14 day camping on the beach, Windy at times, but hey it's the beach. Love it! WG7D

Report Check-In

Long parking right next to the water. Not the most beautiful view ever but quiet and look safe. A few RVs around but not very crowded in January.

Report Check-In

Nice, clean and quiet beach. Free for 14 days, free showers(cold water only) garbage bins.

Report Check-In

Great camping on the beach for free! Toilets, garbage, showers. Would come again for sure!

Report Check-In

This beach is totally awesome! You are not right on the coastal beach so you are a little more protected from the wind. The bathroom/shower area is ok and kept fairly clean. They had the shower doors locked one morning but remained open and unlocked most of 3 days I was there. The rv parking area is crushed shell and sand so I had no problem at all with my 2wd truck.

Might want to consider having a grass door mat to wipe your feet as the sand and shell tends to get tracked into the rv. There are no hookups but you can fill your water jug at the showers. I had a great time and will definitely return!

Report Check-In

mag beach RV nice small park. 30 dollars a day or 600 a month

Report Check-In

Nice peaceful free parking on the beach. The beach is not sand it is broken shells, but broken down to mostly small bits.

Report Check-In

I’m not entirely sure what the draw of this place is other than it’s free. The bathrooms are dirty but there are concrete picnic tables and trash. Even during the off season it was fairly crowded, at least by my standards. The water is somewhat shallow and fishing doesn’t appear to be very good from shore. Across the bay is a plant of some sort so the skyline isn’t really attractive. We stayed one night and then headed to Keller Bay.

Report Check-In

Great spot to camp for free. Showers are cold mainly for rinsing after getting in the water :). Bathrooms there too. Overall great! Park right in the beach and Lauren to the sea as you fall asleep

Report Check-In

Awesome free campsite. Right on the water, nice hard packed beach very big rig friendly. Had access to showers and bathrooms, some shade structures and trash cans. Not crowded, will definitely be back.

Report Check-In

GREAT place to either spend the night or spend a couple days. At night, it is very quiet and peaceful sleeping, since you are just 20-30 feet from the waves of the bay lapping against the beach, it'll lull you to sleep.

Report Check-In

Great spot. Easy to get to and easy to park. Lots of people here but there was still plenty of places between rigs. The signs at the entrances and at the restroom ask that you park perpendicular to the beach so there is room for everyone - most people did.

The restroom was clean but the showers were locked. There was a cold/beach rinse shower outside.

People were quiet and friendly. Cell service was hit and miss.

Report Check-In

Stayed here for two nights, place is as described. Showers were closed, but there were cold outdoor showers. Beach was extremely populated with other rvs and locals. Better to go to a less popular spot, in our opinion.

Report Check-In

Great free camping on the beach, hard packed sand. Spent 3 days here, very quiet. Good AT&T cell signal.

Report Check-In

Hello
This is the place where you must park your motorhome for some nights.
Great view on the beach(ok you have the petrol industry on the other side but it's ok)
Clean restroom, cold and open shower (the 3 other shower are closed )
Put about the saturday night, there is a local people who make a so big party with so loud music all night.
It's where you see a wood construction with blue roof, flags and a trailer.
If it's saturday night don't stay near the construction of this owner ...!!!
Enjoy your trip.

Report Check-In

At this time of the year it is very quite and not crowded. Real a good place. Look the 6th photo for the manage of this place.

Little Piece of Heaven here for the week

Report Check-In

Great free spot. On the beach. Hard packed sand and shells. Get supplies and water, rv dump before you get here. Lighthouse Prk in Port Lavaca has water and dump for 10 bucks. 15 min away. Good ATT signal.

Report Check-In

Tonns of RV and trailer. Lot of space on a beach. Public washrooms with flushing toilets. There are also 4 showers, but at my time, there are closed. There are also small huts with table and benches and garbage containers available. I had a very quiet and peaceful night. Thanks for sharing.

Report Check-In

Seems to be the place everyone knows about. EVERYONE. The beach is crumbles shell almost like broken glass. Hard packed but not barefoot friendly. Our closest neighbor used a generator. I think so did the next guy. It’s fine for a pinch but the cell service was slow on top of the crowd. It just didn’t work for us.

Report Check-In

Nice place with amenities but the showers were closed.
