Have stayed here several times of the last 7 years and always found it very nice as described by others. This last time, 3-11-24, was a different. The area was packed with homeless, indigent folks who were very rude, noisy and threatening. Listened to one individual sing, not that well, from 5pm until 9pm about 20 feet from out outfit. Check it out and don't be afraid to move on if it doesn't work out for you. Sign of the times I think or just bad timing on our part. Sad day.
Report Check-Inlike everyone said rough road coming in. if you're towing a rally long trailer some of the dips/curves might be a problem. go slow. no shelter from the wind. 46mbs on att. great sunset
Report Check-InStayed 2 nights here. It’s a little bit of a rough drive in, but we did it easily with 2WD. A wonderful spot, would be a shame if it was full and you had to turn back around though. We came early January on a weekday and it wasn’t too crowded. Spotty Verizon service. Let’s connect on Instagram! @the_nomadic_experience
Report Check-InBeautiful beach. It wasn’t to busy during the week. Lots of flies. Don’t take the trail that starts at the Davis Dam that maps.me gives you. It is loose gravel for miles. Take the trail that starts at highway 163 that google suggests.
Report Check-InQuatre belles nuits tranquilles même si plus de monde le week-end. Le niveau d’eau était très bas selon les locaux. Beau coin pour la SUP et le kayak. Début novembre.
Report Check-InSooo nice. Seemed like a paid campground but it was free! The spots were close together but not too much so. Very friendly people. Beautiful view. Only experienced flies like others commented while we were eating then they left us alone
Report Check-InWe got our 35ft skoolie down here with a few white knuckles, but all in all the drive in wasn't bad. It was absolutely packed (Easter weekend), and there was a caravan of 100 kids coming from LA for the week.
It would be a cool spot. Just avoid Easter weekend and the spring break of the LA area.
Report Check-InBeautiful spot with views of the mountains, right on the water, clean bathrooms, peaceful. Downside is TONS of flies. (October)
Report Check-InStayed here two nights so far. It’s pretty empty and quiet after dark but the dayger people generally keep it loud during the day. I’m sure it gets more packed at night on the weekends. There are a good amount of bugs, mostly gnats and bees. Right on the water which is nice, it also has pit toilets and large dumpsters. Road out is easy, I see multiple passenger cars out here. Water is the perfect temp. Lots of area to get large rigs turned around and leveled. Poor Verizon service. Standing in the right spot I can load YouTube and Spotify though. Close to town, has decent shade for most of the day under the trees, great views. Will definitely be back.
Report Check-InAmazing place! Yes, 5 miles off main road, but we are full time boondockers and LOVE it! Yes, the road is washboard and if not experienced with out 4x4 it ma be a bit hard. But SO worth the drive in!❤️
Report Check-InAs wonderful as I remembered. It's been 6 or 7 years.
Other than the lower water levels. Not much has changed.
Hiked to a high point to get one bar of Verizon. Enough to download emails and texts.
beautiful lake side free camping..5 miles down a bumpy road but with the trouble
Report Check-InNot very good cell service almost none. If you’re coming on weekend then plan to come Thursday or early Friday to get a spot. Lots of lake front parking. It’s not quiet, lots of partying going on most of night, loud music, yelling and dogs barking all hours of night
Report Check-InBeautiful spot! Quite busy during this time. There just happen to be an opening for a van but don’t expect privacy.
Zero cell service! Sprint/T-Mobile nor Verizon had zero bars.
The drive took 15-20 minutes and quite bumpy but no 4wheel necessary. Great spot and worth the view.
Report Check-InVery pretty place, but you will have neighbors. Good for water activities, but not so much for hiking or biking. Fair Verizon signal at south end of cove.
Report Check-InWas a quiet night. The road in is 5 miles of washboard with some steep hills. We made it without issue in our converted promaster.
We did not have any Verizon service at all even with a cell booster.
Beautiful location!
Report Check-InThis place is AWESOME... get here early tho cause it gets busy.... cell service comes and goes here.... nice for swimming... lots of people here especially on
Report Check-InThis place is awesome!!! Busy spot... nice gravel beach and lake.... 3 pit toilets ... if it’s very windy... make sure you have your tent secure lol cell service comes and go....
Report Check-InAwesome place! Busy on weekends. Get there early for beachfront.
Report Check-InNice place on the lake. Pretty busy in March, but a good crowd of people made it a non issue. Some generators during the day. AT&T cell was poor to non existent, T-Mobile was fair.
Report Check-InThis is one of the best remote camping spot in the area.
The beach is perfect for swimming and the sand is great to sit at while enjoying your surroundings.
When it is windy it is not as good.
The drive there is about a file mile drive on a very well maintained dirt road.
Even a class A RV can make it if careful.
@SummersOnWheels
Very Nice. Got crowded on a Wednesday. 4 mile dirt road with lots of washboard area. Drove 21' RV. Well worth the stop.
Report Check-InWent for 1 night, stayed 3!! Fantastic spot on Lake Mohave. Met great people. Pit toilets were clean and always had paper. Big dumpsters for trash. Several fire rings. We had no cell service (AT&T) except when kayaking or hiking above camp
Report Check-InLovely quiet spot lakeside Lake Mohave. Clean pit toilets. Can be busy at weekend.
