Description

Be warned, the Namaqua 4WD trail is very technical with lots of sand, steep rocky climbs, sharp rocks and wet riverbeds. Often there are tracks to follow, but they'll disappear after rain. Look for areas with less vegetations while crossing the river bed/green area. There are also black tires marked with 4x4 along the trail.

This track is NOT suited if you have a heavy truck with low clearence, or big bikes with lots of luggage - unless you are a confident rider and have prior experience in these environments.

However, if you go here it'll be an awesome ride with lots of cool photo ops and amazing nature.

Crossed from east to west November 2017 on loaded motorcycles.

Enjoy!

Latest Check-Ins

We did the whole Namaqua 4x4 trail in our big rig (with high clearance). It is a beautiful and mostly remote 700km trail in all so you need enough fuel and water for that distance. Some areas are quite sandy so some experience of 4 wheel driving an advantage.

Bookings are supposed to be made though Namaqua4x4eco trail website but they never answered emails or calls. Worth a try though (081) 873-9043.

We did the western part from Klein Pella to the N7, more or less 250 km. We had a lot of fun, the track was sometimes sandy in riverbads or rocky, but all easy, the track is well signed. Amazing landscapes, no fences and a lot of wildcamp options, we loved it!
