Latest Check-Ins

Stopped by. Very little going on.

It's beautiful, and if you're up for climbing 327 stairs, check out El descansa del Diablo.

The train isn't currently running. They told me maybe in September of 2023, but I doubt it.

Good WiFi in the restaurant. I didn't eat, but I got an expensive glass of fresh juice.

Nice spot to stop for a beautiful view. Entrance fee 2USD for foreigners and 1 for locals.

Looks like the entrance price can be variable. I paid $2 and was still happy.

Report Check-In

$1USD per person to enter Mirador. They were offering 2 lunch options (weekday, nobody except us) at $5USD. We were able to see the train from 11:20 - 11:30 and the views were lovely. Very scenic mirador. Stop by if you can, it was a nice time for us. In the restaurant, there are 3 posters with information on the construction of the train. FYI, take E35 to get here.

Stopped at the mirador restaurant. Entrance to go into village/mirador is $1pp. We ate at the restaurant, it was $2.50 per plate. We got there at 3:30 and got to see the train heading back to Alausi at 4pm. We did not stay the night, but seemed quiet and safe.

Report Check-In

We took one of the trains from Alausi to see the Nariz. Not worth it imo. 33$pp for 30 min train ride with hardly understandable explainations. Then you‘re stuck for 1h in a sharade of quechua village life in the valley to buy food and souvenirs before you drive the same way back. We felt like on a cruise ship excursion. Probably better to take your car to the sibambe train station if you just want to see the nose.

Report Check-In

1 US per person. I got there around 1pm and got to see a train going back up.

Report Check-In

Entrance is now 2$ pp. The trains leave from Alausi at 8am, 11am and 3pm (high season). About 20 minutes later they reach the first switch back, good visible from the mirador about 200m down the steps.
