Latest Check-Ins

We parked our camper on the parking lot of the hotel. It's not an official camp spot but no one bothered. We had dinner in the hotel and the next day the first navigation to the grey gletsjer, so it was very convenient.

Note!! The ranger at administration building told us since 2023 it is NOT allowed for motor homes to park on this and other sites anymore. Only 2-3 places are officially allowed: camping Pehoe, Guarderia Lago Azul, and Parking Lago Grey with high exception. We stayed at other spots nevertheless and we were not send away.
Okay campsite, the camp spots are ok, relatively flat on soil, wind protection if you’re lucky with the wind direction. No signal with Movistar.
Safe, quiet at night, little other vehicles.

Asked at the reception, very friendly staff, no problem staying the night at the parking lot of the hotel in our self-contained camper. No cell signal at the parking lot, WiFi at the hotel is free only for guests staying there, otherwise you can buy WiFi, 3.000 pesos for 1 hour (!)

We asked and the friendly people at the hotel reception indeed allowed us to camp in their parking lot (no issues at all, even without consuming anything in the hotel). We used the toilets in the lobby. However, I have no idea how you can find wind shelter here. Yes, there are trees surrounding the parking lot, but it’s impossible to park close enough to the trees and downwind from them to have any decent wind protection. We weren’t able to open up our pop-up roof. So I would say: zero wind protection.

The camp spot at the welcome center for the Torres del Paine hike is in our opinion much better (more privacy and more trees for wind shelter).

Report Check-In

Stayed for one night with our motorhome. If Campers remain "discrete" this should continue to be a good spot.

Report Check-In

We did not stay at the hotels parking but used the restaurant. The have a decent breakfast buffet for 12.000 pesos. Great option when doing a boat trip in the morning.
Lunch and Dinner have to be reserved in advance. WiFi has to be bought extra.

we stayed here 3 nights and it was okay. Its really good wind protected. Winds are crazy here, up to 150km/h. The boat Trip to the glacier is now 85000 CHP, ours was cancelled because of the strong Wind. The bar in the Hotel ist really nice and servs good Cocktails with a spectacular view on Torres del Paine!

we stayed overnight on the nearby parking areal to the glacier and the ranger says it's o.k.

Report Check-In

Stayed for 2 nights in the large hotel car park, behind some trees and sheltered from the wind by a tour minibus. No problems & a view of snowcapped mountains in the distance. Hotel WiFi very poor and unusable (password the same) even at hotel but amazing views of the lake, icebergs, mountains & glacier while we had a coffee (US$5 a small cup!). Great walk, about 2.5 km to lovely viewpoint beside lake. Reception in hotel will give directions. Ferry around Lake Grey to glacier was US$100 ish!! Very quiet.

Report Check-In

Car park next to hotel. No facilities, some wind shelter. Hotel has very slow wifi, no password needed.

Report Check-In

We didn't stay overnight, but had breakfast here to jump on the wifi (password is [Password removed by Moderator.] as of January 2016)! We saw several foxes here, so probably worth keeping food stored away if overnighting here. There is a lovely walk to Mirador Lago Grey from the ranger station at the end of the road (toilets available there).

Report Check-In

- free
- no facilities
- the hosteria was closed, but their open wifi was still on, so we spend the night on the parking lot
